Right Click: Note Properties Hit or Miss

I recently moved over from Sonar 6 to X2 and am having a problem getting the Note Properties box to appear when I right click on a note in Staff View.  It only happens occasionally but is a real pain when it occurs.  Instead of the Note Properties box showing up, a box containing "Layout..., Regenerate Tablature..." etc. shows up (no heading so I don't know what to call it).  Sometimes, after several tries right clicking above, below, to the right, to the left of the note, the note properties box finally makes an appearance but not always.  I never saw this problem in Sonar 6.  I searched the Forum but didn't find anything relating to this.  Any answers?  Thanks.

Is this what you are seeing?  If so, sorry, still no answer for you.

Works here. You have to position your mouse right on the note head. The mouse will change from a pencil to a pointer when positioned over the note head. Then right-click and Properties should appear. If not, then I'm not sure what's happening there.

Also, make sure you're running the latest update... SONAR X2a.

Also try updating your display and graphics card  drivers. Are you using any fancy software with your mouse?

There is another thread that deals with this - I will look for it and post it shortly, if I can find it.  Was pretty recent - last week or so.

Lately I am having that issue: it takes a number of tries to get the right click to open properties.

I think this may be the solution.  I'll get back on my project tomorrow and see if I run into the problem.  If so, I'll click on the edit tool rather than the smart tool.  Thanks.

Yesss.  Using the edit tool instead of the smart tool is the secret.  Thanks Bob Bone.

While I'd love to take the credit - someone else did the work - I just happened to remember seeing the thread and dug it up.

Glad you are back to working more smoothly - less bafflement = more fulfillment.
