||: Dementia?.... Say what? :||

According to current research (still in it's early stages) Cannabidiol (an ingredient in Cannabis) may very well reverse dementia. So far tests look promising. You can read more about this in a news article here

Dementia is an awful condition, as we get older the risks become greater and early signs of Dementia can hit anyone long before the age of 65. Scary!  I know a father who is suffering early stages of Dementia and already has trouble finding his way from one place to the next even-though earlier in his life he has traveled that same route hundreds of times.

And it's illegal, yet a 17 year old girl can legally buy synthetic "weed" from a gas station which ends up paralyzing and blinding her (recent story I read). And people can quite legally drink themselves to death (becoming complete a-holes in the process).

I had a wee smokee over the Christmas period and it just reminded me of how much I love it  I choose to stay drug/alcohol free for 99% of the time for various reasons, but believe it's a freaking scandal of monstrous proportions that this lovely natural substance is outlawed by our tyrannical governments.

I remember catching that story headline about that girl (didn't read it all I was busy, distracted at the time)! Yeah it's a screwed up world for sure, I strongly believe Marijuana should be legalized and synthetics including other crap chemicals and modifiers that's in our food chain should be banned!!!

Minor correction since it's legal here and at least one other state (and I'm already smelling too much of it).

Ah' found that article Sharke mentioned:

Girl brain damaged, blind and paralyzed after smoking synthetic marijuana and suffering a series of strokes. Read About it Here

From what I've read (correct me it I'm wrong) anyone can obtained the synthetic marijuana 'legally' readily available and sold at some tobacco shops and gas service stations in Australia and in the UK (and possibly other countries) it can also be purchased online.

Say what? Who are you?, oh nevermind.  Ah yes, I remember, of course, we're talking about SONAR 8.5, the latest release by the Bakers, it's available at all Cake shops, a real no-brainer, it's a cakewalk!

They should legalize real pot.. Nationwide...  I haven't smoked in years.. I have no plans to smoke, even if its legal..  But, "synth pot."  Crazy!!

Yes very tragic and there's been other similar incidents reported.

Also agree, about legalizing 'real' pot, not that I might smoke it, but more likely digested primarily for medical use only. No smell, no ash, no smoke, it's also discreet; especially around the kids.

I remember watching a documentary about the founding fathers; they smoked and the clothes they wore, other materials and ropes all made out of Pot! Makes me wonder if the paper we're also made out of Pot,,, hmmm,,,, OMG the constitution.

That's interesting... because it seemed to have the opposite effect on me... " what exactly was I looking for in here?.... oh well.... never mind, pass be that joint again......" ...... along with giving me the munchies for junk food.  ( back in the day.... of course..... I might have another look at it if I need it for "medicinal" purposes later in life)

I agree on the legality issue 100%... it's a plant, and it has useful properties. Yet it's classified in the same group with highly addictive and dangerous substances.

I spent the years between 18 and 23/24 stoned every day. It was the main goal of the day... but it has been years now. HOWEVER... if it were legal...

I feel VERY strongly that by virtue of being a human resident of this planet, I have a inherant RIGHT to use ANYTHING that grows here and anyone who says I cannot is really arrogant and presumptios... and armed and have the power to throw my butt in jail.... otherwise I would still risk it. However one can only spend so much time peeking out through the window.

The nerve of some people... who do they think they are? The police or something?

Seriously, anything that has a remote chance of reversing dementia is worth the risk... same with cancer.

Big pharma don't like a lot of things.... especially if it works, and is free or cheap and non-patent-able.

It's bad when they have to send a swat team to bust some plants....

Pot seems to give me the urge to look in drawers. You know those drawers into which you randomly throw things that you have no other place for? I'd often find myself mindlessly sifting through those when stoned. Other weird things that pot has made me do include feeling sorry for trash, and discovering a link between the smell of laundry detergent and happiness.

My roommate has a MML (Medical Marijuana License) and has some company come out to refill his stock.  It's so weird to see them as if they were discussing the various attributes of coffee or something while he gets to pick and try samples from all sorts of different varieties.

As long as he smokes OUTSIDE I tend not to care (he can be grouchy so he's easier to be around after he's medicated himself - LOL).
