Near Field Monitor Stands

Greetings from Seattle,

Anybody have a good idea about a really nice pair of near field monitor stands. My preference would be wood with channels to hid cables. The stuff I see at the local music stores just dont ring my bell!

Thanks,

Soop

I don't know who made mine, but I can recommend getting some that have hollow, but enclosed wooden shafts with the ability to drill and put your cables inside. Then, I'd recommend inserting a thick 3mil garbage bag into each one and fill them with sand. That will make the stand more solid, and able to subdue resonant frequencies of the stand or base.

How about asking a local cabinet maker to whip out two wooden stands just as you envision them?

    best regards,

If you're interested in desktop monitor stands, I can recommend these:

They look kinda funky but make a big improvement in the clarity of the sound!

    Cheers,
