Tryin to hear my xp-60 on my Cakewalk via midi

Whats up folks Im really not trying to sinc my Roland xp-60 synthetizer with any synth from my cakewalk home studio 2004 ,just trying to hear what I play on my xp-60 on my cakewalk via midi, went to seq/f1/f2 so to make my synth remote and also altered some other stuff there but really I dont find how cakewalk can recognize it,really thaught it was like bluetooth but its harder, there is some parameters I must alter like midi:patch:midi or so but really dont know where so if you have done it please provide step by step instructions because I really feel floating in the noth ,itll be greatfully appreciated and please remember I know you are into sonar and you will likely recommend to me sonnar but this time Im using home studio 2004 and I will stick to it so please try to understand ok bro?

You need a midi interface and midi drivers for whatever operating system that you are using that would run sonar home studio 4 .... Which I think came out n 2004....are you on windows Xp?

Other than that I don't understand your question.

You can record a MIDI track and an audio track at the same time. You'll need to connect the MIDI output to the computer and the synth line outs to the soundcard. Arm both tracks and record. Then you can either playback the MIDI track through the synth or just use the audio track or both. I'm not sure what you're trying to do.

Shes lovely you know back in L.A. The midi interface is my sound card that actually wasnt recognized by my os with the on built drivers so I went and let Windows XP find right drivers and the sound card worked just fine,it recorded audio very well but Im not sure if is working with midi. My Roland Synthetizer XP-60 already has midi cable on the out and the sound card has already connected the other end of midi cable inj its input so basically like I told you Im not trying to sync sequencers well at least for now but much rather just hear my XP-60 Synth on my cakewalk home studio 2004 just like if it was audio ,I suspect like it aint audio I have to hear it only in my headphones and wait til its recorded via midi.Really thaught on your wording but I was thinking that if I add other drivers on top of this ones I might run the risk of Windows be deconfigured and loose the right drivers for good, however its a sign that if the sound card is recording audio then it must be working properly so much rather what I want nicely fropm you is give me the right settings for my Roland XP-60 synth in order to hear it on my cakewalk home studio 2004,well those that have achieved this please.

You know that MIDI is not audio right? If you want to hear/record your synth's sounds you need to record the audio from your synth into your sound card. Not Midi. It sounds like you are not clear on that.

For one thing, you're in the wrong forum. You should be in the Home Studio forum. Also, its doubtful that Home Studio 2004 will even work on a newer computer so I don't think I can help you.

IF YOU CANT HELP THEN DONT HELP,somehow if you read carerfully youll find out I got very well defined that audio is not midi,I just want to map my home studio 2004 with my synth signals not necessarily seq,all is required here is a guy that has worked with home studio 2004 along with a Roland XP-60 in most thaughtfull ways you name it vs880 whatever midi with synths and never mind because the system operative of my computer is xp so I dont think there is compatibility problems neither driver ones

Well - I CAN help - but now I WON'T. Your incoherent babbling isn't helping your cause. Hope you figure it out.

One problem for me is I don't know what Home Studio can do or how it does it.

I do know that you have to have a MIDI port and an audio interface to use any hardware keyboard synth with any DAW.

Also if its HS 2004 its OLD.  Time to upgrade me thinks.

Seems like the only thing you've managed to do here is get on the wrong side of the very people you want help from.

I suggest you eat a little humble pie, say sorry for being so rude and ask again - this time properly, understanding that if English isn't your first language that you need to help us understand you a little better. If that's too big a problem for you then I guess you've got the help you deserve. All the best.

A few things might help you get where you need to be:

    1. Post in the right forum section (a couple of clicks down on the main page is the HOME STUDIO forum).

    2. Use punctuation and sentences; your responses are VERY difficult to read.

    3. Quit being a dick when folks (started out, at least) trying to help you.

    OK, "Bro"?

mapping cakewalk home studio 2004 with the roland synthetizer

A rule of correspondence established between sets that associates each element of a set with an element in the same or another set.

A special kind of binary relation which relates any given element of one set to a unique element of another.
