Assume a uninstall of X1 will not touch the VST folder? Safe then?

According to subject - and probably answered directly/indirectly after browsing around and googling:

Going to remove X1d in favor of X2 - probably. My 700+ vsts is a **** to install though, so I hope they will be left alone in their folder when uninstalling, and that I can just add them in preferences or similar during scan?
I only have two vst folders:

One in: C:/Program/Cakewalk/VstPlugins
The other in: C:/Program(x86)/Cakewalk/VstPlugins (for the 32bit plugs)

I would leave X1 installed - it consumes minimal hard drive space and you stand to lose more than you gain by removing it.

I too recommend leaving X1 in place, removing it will return less than 200MB of disk space and you might want/need X1 at some point.

To directly answer your question, uninstalling X1 will only remove what X1 installed. Any other content in the VSTPlugins directories will be untouched. Assuming you are referring to X1 Producer or X1 Producer Extended, Beatscape and DimPro will also be left unless you run their uninstallers too. There is no need to do that. The DimPro that came with X1 is the same as the one provided with X2. So leave DimPro alone and skip the DimPro install. Beatscape is no longer included with X2 but the Beatscape library is included in the X2 "Loops and One Shots" files. The library is ~4GB. If you choose to leave Beatscape installed, you can safely remove the Beatscape library and point to the new "Loops and One Shots" http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2686307

Ok then - I have considered that option as well - and knowing that the actual application doesn't tax my 4TB in total that much, it's perhaps wiser to just leave it as is.

I did not install the additional content like Beatscape and/or Dimension Pro before though, since my other libraries and VST more than amply fill that potential void.
