Metronome Being Recorded within Audio Track?

I have Sonar X1 and X2 . for some reason the installation of X2 did not uninstall X1.. but that is not the problem. I had this problem With X1 as well. so here goes. I record primarily Guitar. with Sonar X1 and X2 With Metronome enabled during Record..everything seems fine until (and I have metronome on play back turned off)..I hit play back and I can hear the Metronome with in the track Audio? I have tried moving the Digitech Rp1000 far away from the PC. and have moved the guitar about 20 feet away from the PC (so when I hit record I have to RUN back to the Guitar). and this problem still persists to happen. I cannot resolve this issue and do not now where to start or look. I have even turned off metronome During Record and that seems to work but I need the Metronome to stay on time. but it would be great if the Metronome was not recorded with in the Audio of the track. any suggestion as to how I may prevent the Metronome From being recorded? thank you in advance for your time.

Sounds like the metronome is being routed into the wrong audio track.

Check where its going in the console.

Does the metronome sound clear and loud, as purposely recorded, or is it dim/silent, like hearing a leak or crosstalk? Usually this problem is due to "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" settings being abled in the integrated soundcard. How are you recording the guitar? Directly through Digitech or through a miked cabinet?

I'm a little confused about your moving the Digitech further from the computer. In which way do you expect it to help in this case? And this makes me think there's something more that we shoud know about your workflow. How do you monitor? Is the Digitech the only interface selected in Preferences? Every version of SONAR is a separate install. Version 2 is not supposed to uninstall version 1.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

it may not be recorded,it may just be set to turn on when play is engaged.
go to the control panel/right next to the playbutton/transport controls.there are 2 little buttons.
one is to have the metrodone on all the time, the other is to have it on only during recording.

I had a problem somewhat like this, where the metronome recorded to audio tracks.  It turned out that it was caused by a setting within the audio card driver on my PC.  There was an option for "Direct Monitoring" that made the metronome record.  I turned it off, and that fixed it.  Part of the trick was simply finding the setting to change, which was absurdly difficult.

Somewhere in me is a long and vehement rant about this stupid little time-consuming problem, but I'll save it for another day.

Are you recording the guitar through a line or a microphone?  If its a microphone you should be using headphones to hear the metronome click.

I needed to get my Edirol FA-66 out of mothballs and heard the metronome on my recorded tracks - after a while I realized it was the direct monitor mix - argghh - information learned, forgotten, and learned again...
