How to create tremelo effect in X2?

Hey,

Is there a plug-in included with X2 which I can create a tremelo effect for an existing guitar track with?

I can't seem to find one.  Seems like there was one available in earlier versions of Pro Audio.

I want to create that vintage-y sounding swampy tremelo guitar sound.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

The FX2 amp sim plugin has a Vintage Tremelo preset.

Tremolo is a modulation effect and you can do this easily with the Sonitus:fx Modulator. Add it to your fx bin and then choose Tremolo for the Mode parameter.

Then use the LFO parameter to choose the type of modulation wave you want to use... normally this would be Sine for the standard tremolo effect.

Then use the Rate parameter to adjust the speed of tremolo.

    That should do it.

You can use the Sonitus:fx Modulator for a Vibrato effect if you want to try that (courtesy of Craig Anderton)

Use Default Flanger Preset. Set rate to 6 hz. LFO to sine. Phase to 0. Delay to 0.01 ms. Mix to 100%.
The depth slider controls amount of effect.

This is straight out of Craig's X1 Advanced Workshop: the next level dvd. Lot's of good stuff

Thanks guys, I will try the fx: Modulator.

I think I was originally thinking about the FX2 Amp Sim plug mentioned earlier and now think that I didn't install in X2 because (I'm guessing) it is not 64-Bit.

I'm not at my DAW, but I'm wondering now if Guitar Rig LE might have a tremelo in it.

    Thanks.

Melda has a free one, but you have to install the entire free FX suite to get it. 22 VST's in all iirc.

If you want really wild tremolo effects, use the z3ta+ as an FX insert.

Also don't forget that you can draw periodic waveforms for volume automation - sine, triangle, square, saw, and random. Great stuff!
