A simple request: Proper scroll function in the Inspector.
Well this is just great. For some reason my Pro Channel Inspector refuses to scroll so I can't get at all the modules without collapsing other modules. The usual undocking and resizing workaround isn't working either. We need a scrollbar on this thing. Not very happy right now. grr...

The PC usually scrolls for me but it has stopped working. The other Inspector tabs have never scrolled for me though but the only thing that gets cut off are the Gain knobs so it's not a big deal. However because X2 does not seem to like the scroll wheel on my trackball (makes things jerky and inaccurate) just having a scrollbar would benefit me very much. Actually after poking around a bit it seems this project is starting to reject my scroll wheel almost completely. Gonna try a reboot to see if that helps. If not then I'll pull out a mouse. Maybe it's the trackball itself. However the point remains... there should be a scrollbar and all the Inspector elements should scroll. Blern... I was actually getting some work done.

Ugh... the mouse is scrolling. Now I've got to leave it hooked up if I want to scroll. I hate mice. Scroll bar please.

Sometimes using Sonar seems to screw up my scroll wheel system wide - scrolling is painful slow in my browser until I reboot. Beepster it sounds like this is one of the weird screwy things that accumulate in projects over time. I've had projects become corrupted in little ways like this too.

I have one project which has had to be rebuilt from the keel upwards twice! Once in X1 and again in X2. For now it seems to be behaving ok - but we have only just started tracking vocals on it - that's always a good test what with V-Vocal & Layers etc

@sharke... Yeah, I'm starting to notice that as I move forward with stuff X2 becomes quirkier and quirkier. It's rather bothersome in the writing phase because I'm recording LOTS of different takes to flesh out the songs. I'd like to keep those projects as foundations for the final version but I fear they might be far too bugged out by the time I get to that point. This however seems to be a conflict with my trackball which is a real shame. I need it for precise editing. My hands are too big and trained for other finite functions (like playing actual music) to use a mouse with any kind of accuracy. Seriously... I HATE mice. Every other Windows based program out there has a scrollbar for anything that requires scrolling. Aside from aesthetics I have no idea why Cake would not do this for such a crucial part of the program. From what I understand you actually had to pay for X1 Expanded to even get scrolling functionality in the Inspector. That... is not cool. Anyway, I've got a mouse hooked up now cluttering up my desk. It will only be used to scroll the PC. Ugh...

Maybe I'd better move on getting Reaper installed so I can do all the fancy stuff in X2 then let Reaper handle the big boy stuff. Can't afford to lose material. I'd better stop thinking about this. Starting to go all darkside... and that ain't good for no one. Cheers and thanks for listening to me moan.

But it's just this one project. All the others seem to be ok, even those that were originally started way back in 6PE!

Beepster, have you ever thought about a pen tablet like the Bamboo? I've often thought about switching to one of these because I hate mice as well. I did try a trackball for a while but found it hurt my hand after prolonged use. Did you think that maybe it's an issue with your trackball driver? Might be worth seeing if there's a update.

@sharke... Sadly I think the scroll ring is probably failing due to corrosion or some such as I haven't changed anything on the system since this started happening. It was always a little quirky. As far as a pen tablet I actually would like one so I can get back into visual art again but can't justify the cost. I've been looking at maybe getting a Win8 tablet which might be a neat external controller however as an old Palm user I'd much rather have some kind of stylus. Do they make styluses for those beedin' things? I don't like putting my grubby paws all over screens and again the accuracy of my hamhocks for such things wouldn't be ideal I think. Cheers.

And a mean really... how does one make a precise edit with a smooshy finger? I'd rather get in there with surgeon like precision. I don't see how that type of thing gets done without a cursor in play. Meh.

You can buy styluses for iPhones and iPads so I presume they will work on any touch surface.

PS I used to have a Wacom pen tablet that I used for Adobe Illustrator. It was fantastic but the drivers were so buggy I took it back.

On my Android tablet you can zoom in using a reverse pinch to do stuff on small items. I agree with the need to have precise control but you shouldn't loose that control with a touch screen under Windows 8. It supports all input devices that any Windows would.

It has been found that certain scroll wheel mice do NOT work as expected on every occasion. I have 2 different mice from 2 different makers that behave 2 different ways. So until a scroll bar appears, try using a different mouse (Logitech seems to work best for this). Or try installing/reconfiguring the mouse software that came with the mouse (sometimes people forget to do this). BTW, all we need is something else that takes up more screen realestate. I for one do not wish to see any more scrollbars. HTH

It would be nice if we could double click to minimize each module as well. Or put the minimize button on the bottom of each module.
