Solved - Dimension Pro question, and also Rapture... where are the presets stored?
I've saved several Dimension Pro favorite presets into its own folder for Dimension Pro, so they show up in my presets choices lists in Dimension Pro. I've done the same for Rapture, Z3TA... Those lists are all working. I've just forgotten where the directory/folder is for Dimension Pro presets. I was trying to navigate there, and I couldn't find it. I know it's there since I've used it a lot in the past, but just today I'm having a mind blank on where that folder storing the presets is. Anyone know the usual path offhand? Same goes for Rapture

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

I moved all of the Cakewalk content to my second hard drive. The factory presets and such live at: D:\Cakewalk Content\Dimension Pro\Multisamples There is also an empty folder that may be for user presets - that is at: D:\Cakewalk Content\Dimension Pro User I hope that helps, Bob Bone

The patches (i.e. .prog files) are in a hidden directory C:\ProgramData DimPro are in C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs Rapture are in C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\Programs

Rapture seems to live at: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Rapture\Multisamples Bob Bone

I thought the OP was a question about the .prog files not the .sfz and audio samples. I must of misread the post.

I have no idea which way he meant - I just posted what I remembered. He certainly has both sets of info now, so hopefully either way our work is done :) Bob Bone

He means the prog files, I believe. Try the hidden folder c:program data. You can also save vst progs w/ the project. @

And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

I had some strange results storing a bunch of presets for Dim Pro in the Program Data directory. After I had saved them I went to the directory and only a random view would show up. I was using them, so they were there, but they didn't show up in the explorer file list. They show up now so It's all good now but that was weird. One annoying thing is that I have to run SONAR as adminstrator to save in the hidden Program Data directory. It's probably better to store them in the documents folder so you'll know where they are when after the next upgrade. Also I think F5 will rescan the programs so they show up on the drop down list in Dim Pro.

Yes the F5 key rebuilds the programs.lst file which is used by the DimPro and Rapture Program Browsers. You can also delete programs.lst and it will be rebuilt on the fly.

SCook had the answer to what I had forgotten. I am just updating some stuff in my presets list and it works well to just go straight to the presets directory. I'd just forgotten where it was. Thanks all. The forum is great for quick answers on easy questions!

@lawava - can you edit your first post subject line and add the word 'solved'? That way folks don't spend a bunch of time looking through the thread only to find out that all is well again. Thanks - and GREAT news that your fix was that easy - good job scook :) Bob Bone
