Ho do you key switch Midi Channels Live

I have a Dim Pro program set up with four elements and have the setting set to trigger each element from a different MIDI channel.  Does anyone know how to set up a key switch so I can switch MIDI channel while recording?  Right now I have to record and go back and switch the notes manually or stop and change channels on the track inspector.

I'd like to be able to program a key on my MIDI keyboard or computer keyboard and change channels on the fly.
Like
C4=MIDI channel 1
C#4= MIDI channel 2, etc.

Does anyone know how to do this??

    You could place the different channels in separate tracks and use Exclusive solo on those tracks. I don't know about a key binding to allow what you want to do.

    Your best bet would be to MIDI monitor ALL MIDI tracks at once, each listening from a distinctive MIDI channel ..  and use your MIDI controller to switch MIDI channels.

    Speaking of which .. what do you use as a MIDI controller?

    That would help us answering your question.

    Cheers !

    TenCrazy's MFX Channel Switch will switch MIDI channels on-the-fly using a CC message.  You'll get higher accuracy if you use it with a controller that can set high & low range limits, or with programmable switches.  CC values of 1-16 change channels.  CC values of 0 or 17-127 use the original transmitting MIDI Channel.

    As with any live MIDI Channel switching scheme, you run the risk of 'orphaning' any active MIDI message.  That is, a Note On gets separated from its Note Off, or a pitchbend message gets stuck without resolving back to center.  Switch MIDI channels in the dead zone between active MIDI data transmissions.

    Thanks for your help.

    I have Yamaha S80 and M-Audio O2 keyboards for MIDI input.  It seems like the TenCrazy MFX Channel Switch is exactly what I am looking for - to switch instrument articulation samples on the fly.  I copied the Channel Switch dll in the Shared MIDI plugins directory and registered the dll successfully as required, but the MFX was not recognized by SONAR X2a-64.  A review of the help files and manual didn't get me anywhere - still can't see it in SONAR.

    It seems that SONAR would just read it from the Shared MIDI directory on start up.  Is the problem 32 vs 64?
