Ok to delete VSTs?

I had TH2 full and Breverb installed over and over in tons of places and they were making lots of static. Every time I opened one it told me to install it again. I had copies in many folders. I just went on a hunt and deleted the Cakewalk versions and all the versions really. I reinstalled them in the Overload folder and now I seem to be ok.

Was this a dumb thing to do? I didn't see any 'uninstall' methods. Also, it appears to have fixed my prob. It was very strange. I could listen to a mix and when bouncing it would suddenly go all staticky. I don't know how else to describe it.

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

yeah... you should only have a VST installed in one location on the computer.

However, no matter how many you have, when you select that VST, the plug in manager should only be pointing to ONE of them and ignoring the rest.

Check the plug in manager and be sure there is only one link to a given VST..... if there are several, delete them from the Plugin manager and note where they are located and remove the DLL as well.

I know that I had some issues a few years ago when I installed Jamstix full version and left the demo on the computer as well. An email to tech support told me to remove the demo and all it's files and it worked like it was supposed to.

on another front.... static often comes from other sources..... cheap sound cards, improper drivers for the sound card, buffers too small, latency settings improperly set..... these are the most common reasons for static.... so check into that as well.

Yeah... it was total static... like that's all there was... and disabling the Breverb made it go away. Another one that was odd was intermittent chirping... chirp ... chirp... and it didn't even follow project tempo haha!!... again, disabling the Breverb the problem went away.

The whole problem has been resolved by deleting older versions of Breverb and only using the correct one.

That chirp could be a plugin that is not registered and is in demo mode.
