Hey Spacey, whatcha think?

Check this out:  http://tinyurl.com/c83gsrt

I especially like these important bullet points:

  • Body: vintage '59 style American Alder Blonde BAKED for light weight
  • Weight 3.3- 3.5 lbs (non-electronic metric scale used)

At first I thought... "baking" kiln dried wood to make it lighter???

Then It dawned on me that they probably found it floating the in the Gulf of Mexico... I think they should a left the barnacles on.

    :-)

      I don't know Mike.

I followed a link the other day and thought I was going to see
some exceptional paint work on guitars by a guy that was "top shelf"...
he was putting paint jobs on them that looked like that one.

I don't understand all that "vintage" stuff.
We go through time with manufacturers pushing "new and improved" and
people put a higher value on all the old junk we were suppose to have improved?

I thought my last 50th Anniv. Strat was suppose to be the results of "improvements"...
guess not. Well if I ever decide to sell it I'll roll it around in the yard first.

I've decided that what I build is a result of incorporating the best, based current knowledge and opinion of,
with every little piece of the build....so far a worn out, beat up guitar hasn't been part of the equation.

Weight is a factor I'm trying to get an understanding of. I didn't mention it and didn't show it but I chambered
my current build. I didn't show it intentionally. I won't be showing it.
It's an area that I believe has tremendous effects and I don't have the experience to have supported opinions of...so I'm
      learning.
I do know that the "balance" of the guitar/bass is of major importance and the weight of the head has an effect on tone...including
the weight of the machines. With the machines being a factor and the cost of them I don't think most guitarist switch them
out to determine the differences. Of course there's always the mounting issues/hole sizes/fit issues with that.

So "weight" is something to consider in ways other than "overall".

Personally I wouldn't bid or buy it and "weight"?....I don't know....I played LP's for over 20 years and they didn't bother me...I think
they sounded pretty good too :)

      I thought

"Weight 3.3- 3.5 lbs (non-electronic metric scale used)"

was a funny sentence no matter what.  :-)
