MIDI VELOCITY

hi to all
i have brought some midifiles from a professional site and would like to change the velocity of the snare as each event  on the score sheet has a different velocity,( to give it more of a feeling i possume )
my objective is to make all of the events for the snare the same velocity as each other.
i have been changing each event  one by one ( very very boring )so is there away they can be changed all in one go as this will speed up the process and at the same time give me my life back.
i use sonar 4 for all of my midi work, old but it suits my needs.
many thanks
tj

There is an Event Filter in Sonhar Home Studio 7 and in Sonar X1 and in Pro Audio 9.  It lets you select items based on certain qualities and then modify some quality of the events.  Kind of like a Find and Replace function.

In ProAudio 9 it was called Interpolate... on the Edit menu.  In X1 it's Find/Change... under Process menu and in SHS7 it's Edit>Select>By Filter....

Maybe you can find it somewhere in Sonar 4.

The Event Filter is quite weird - you better read the help to get a handle on using it.  Very non-intuitive.

I'm not in front of the DAW, but I think you can
    1) pull up the Piano Scroll view
    2) click the instrument (snare) to select all the events on that row
    3) Go to Edit>Processes>MIDI and then choose the right menu options to set a value for all the selected events.  (Sorry I don't recall the details but you can probably find it from there.)

Just curious, why do you want all the hits to be the same velocity?
