Soft southern pansies! I have not turned my heating on once this winter, and it's gotten to -10 here in New York. I know that's nowhere near as cold as some places get in the US, but I think your average Floridian is going to literally fall over and shatter on the sidewalk in those kind of temps.

These temperature threads are the most complicated ones, as I need to use the Fahrenheit2Celsius
converter. Why can't the ratio remain the same through the scale, why does it have to tilt so badly.. :o)

LOL Kalle, I feel the same way! Just remember....

70 F is pretty much paradise and a perfect, temp for everything. Light jacket is there if a breeze...or just a sweat shirt. I love 70...its the perfect temp.

75 F to 80 F short sleeve shirt weather. Great baseball weather.

85-95 F shorts, no shirt. Can get sunburn.

100 F + death. Start a car, put your mouth on the exhaust pipe and suck heat. That's what it feels like when we try to breathe depending on the humidity. Can get serious sunburn/sun poison...literally bubbling of the skin.

    Cold temps:

50-60 F, perfect football weather. Your football or ours. You'll sweat a little, but the coolness in the air makes it perfect.

30-40 F, not much difference really for those of us used to the cold. After one day of 30's, your body gets used to it. A sweat shirt with a light/medium jacket needed. No hat or gloves required unless you're out for a long period of time in 30 F.

20 F, it's amazing how 10 degrees difference from 30 to 20 is so drastic. It literally feels like a 20 degree difference to me. Ice, bitter cold, heavy clothing needed, hats a necessity if the wind is kicking up.

10-18 F, this is typical winter weather in New Jersey. Hats, ski mask, gloves, thermal clothing, but it feels good breathing it in. I actually don't mind this weather at all as long as there is no ice or black ice on the roads. Again, the difference in temp from 18 F to 10 F feels more like 20 degress instead of 8. 10 is no fun and not something I'm down with.

0-8 F, add in windchill and this will probably feel like it does in your area when it gets cold. When you breathe, you can feel your insides burn a little. The water in your eyes literally starts to burn, if you have to pee outside, you'll go pee-sicles, your nose burns, your ears burn, your fingers burn...even with hats and gloves. A ski outfit where your body is completely covered is the best bet here.

Now you know Fahrenheit in full. :)

We're ut to a nice and mild 30 degrees Farenheit - mildest day so far this winter. We've been averaging at around 19 degrees this year which isn't as bad as it usually is - except those nasty winds!

I agree with Danny's temperature guide but with 10 degrees subtracted from everything. To me 60 degrees is the perfect light-jacket wearing temp, anything above that and I have to lose the jacket. At 70 degrees and above I refuse to wear shoes and the Chaco sandals go on. Insert humidity into the equation and all bets are off. I have no idea how anyone could find a humid heat pleasant.

Winter weather is great too. It makes you feel alive. A perfect winter day is that temperature at which it's just cold enough to snow. I love that. You need the contrast - I feel sorry for anyone who lives in perpetually warm weather, because they don't get to experience those magical feelings of elation when the first signs of spring kick in after the winter. It's like a primeval feeling of joy which makes you feel like you're six years old.
