Auto volume control?

I'm trying to edit some interviews using SONAR LE.

I'm finding it very easy when it comes to editing, but I could really use a shortcut to normalize the volume through the entire conversation. Similar to an auto-gain or auto volume control on an handheld voice controller.

Is there any way to do something like this automatically at the end of the editing process?

Does LE not have normalize-function? I assume it has a compressor?

Allthough I think that normalising does little good to uncompressed speech, unless you have evened out the loudest peaks when editing.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

    Yeah, what Kalle said.

"Normalize" adjusts the volume of the entire clip based on the loudest part of the clip.

Using compression instead you can boost the quieter parts of the conversation while leaving the loud parts relatively the same (not exactly but close).

Give it a shot and come back if you have questions.

    Thank you both.

I didn't look at the compressor this way.

I've tried it and it worked.
