How to insert 1 event

Say I have the event list open, how do I insert one midi CC 7-volume event? I don't have a clue.

Select the event nearest to where you want the CC7 to go and press the Ins key on your keypad. It will insert a note event by default; just change it to CC and adjust the starting time if necessary.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I would just automate the Midi track volume. You can insert nodes etc.. Super easy once you figure it out. Right click as always is your friend.

Click on the + sign or on older versions it may look like an asterisk.

The button is called Insert Event if you hover over it. Yes it inserts a Note event (same as pressing the Insert key) which is the default and then you can change it to whatever kind of event you want.
