Is it Possible??

Hi

Not wishing to upset anyone...Is it possible to have 2 Differet DAW's on one PC?

When I say different I mean by two seperate companies?

I love my X2 but would also like to try another DAW as well.

Are there any pitfalls, conflicts etc....

It's actually a good idea to have more than one for troubleshooting purposes alone.

I happily run Sonar and Pro tools on Windows 8....No mean feat I can tell you especially when Avid dont support Win 8 and havent even got a 64bit version yet!

I believe there are quite a few folks that run software from multiple vendors.  Everything installs separately, so there is no issue.

Yes indeed it can be done with no issues...and it is good for trouble shooting for sure. Also it can be a workflow benefit as well...options are all ways nice to have.

Each of the different products have different strengths and weaknesses - you may find mixing work flow among more than one product to be worth the expense and learning required.

Or, you may pull your hair out even faster. :)

    I currently run:
    Sonar X2a, 8.5.3
    Reaper 4.?
    Pro Tools HD 9.05
    Presonus Studio One 2.5
    Sony Sound Forge 10.0e
    Vegas Pro 12.?
    Audition 3.

With the work I used to do it was an advantage to work in native formats with other's projects.

I have Sonar 7 -32 and Sonar 8.5 64. X1 and    Reaper expired demo , Cubase LE 5 and Wave lab 7 elements.
You could have every version of every DAW ever written if  your up for it.

I even have a Atari emulator "STeam," and can run my old Atari software ,,, but I don't bother,, I have Sonar now..
