Content Club
Is this new "TH2 Producer Bonus Pack Presets" in my account the latest content club addition?
If so, thats twice we have had TH2 presets..... I for one am feeling very underwhelmed by this offer. Oh well.... Thoughts?

It's free stuff. I'm not going to complain. There were loads of sounds in that last one, some pretty good. If you don't like tweaking up your own presets in TH2, this is great stuff! If you, like me, prefer to make your own, then don't bother. It didn't cost anything and nothing is different.

Of course, I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth but I'm not *that* impressed with TH2 (I'm a Gtr rig freak - dont wanna bring up that age old yarn tho) I would like to see some more Dim Pro or Rapture presets.....Or something for Pro Channel.... Just my two pence worth.

No, they're just an extra from Cake. Jimmy Landry programmed them as starting point for making your own sounds. They're very good. Cake seem to be giving away lots of little bits at the moment in addition to the Content Club. I'm always grateful for the free things, even if they are not immediately useful to me. I don't use loops, but did not complain when they gave us the free ones. In fact, having listened to Shan@trustmedia.tv's track Oyster, where he did some great things with loops, I may dig them out and have a play.. Next Content Club gift is due for March - April. It's bi-monthly.

I see. There's been some DimPro and Rapture stuff already, once or twice for each? I'm sure they'll offer something like that again and eventually they come around to TH2 stuff again as well. I guess it's a circle

I thought the loops where great! I keep picking ou t tiny little sounds and hits from them and put them into my own sample banks, creating kits, sound FX, a general mess and more. I love loops, when cut apart, messed with, abused and generally destroyed. That's where the fun is

I think the Groove 3 "Access All Areas" pass has been the most useful so far by a country mile. I just wish I had more time to devote to it. I will probably pay for access some time in the future. The great thing about it is you start looking at things you may not of considered if you were buying the videos individually.

Thanks for the heads up, I sure wish I could receive an email notification from Cakewalk... For those not aware, I surely wasn't until yesterday when I was fortunate to overhear a conversation here, there's a free loops package Smart Loops MultiTracks [MT01] Medium Straight Rock 1 DownloadYou have to go through the hoops and buy it, but it costs 0$.

I think the Content Club idea is great. I would like to see more samples, Dim Pro, Rapture, Z3ta stuff. The TH2 presets are nice, but it's only a demo version of it. It probably won't be there in a few versions kind of like what happened with Guitar Rig 4. Although, I think I saw a post the other day that said Guitar Rig 4 is still included, you just have to jump through hoops to activate it. Don't remember where I read that, but I'm pretty sure it was here.

it is nice, but still its not a ful version and its just presets and at least guitar rig 4 has a use as a stand alone. but cake is not doing well with x2 so there throwing out all the nonsence they can for sales but sadly still miss the fact that the full sonar pro with all the plugs is overpriced and misleading to new consumers, yes if your already in the mix its OK. but a new person to sonar would have to pay way to much.and if im right the next full version update will come with even more stuff you as reagulars have already payed for. boost, PC, studio Instrum, all are in my purchase list sadly il never use them again. you guys realy do see my point, just wait brick limiter is comin with x3 id bet on it.

Bub... you may be referring to something I posted the other day. As far as I know GR4 isn't included in X2 but if you had X1 you can just use it like any other VST. It just needs to be registered and updated through the NI site so you actually have the "full" version. The reason I used quotes around "full" is because it is not actually the normal full version of GR4. It is a special Sonar version that has all the functionality of GR4 but has less amps, effects, presets, etc... It's a little weird. If it doesn't show up in your VST list in X2 you just have to scan in the right folder for it. Mine just showed up automagically though without any fiddle faddle but I had added a bunch of folders to my scan list because I was having a bugger of a time finding BFD when I first installed.

I'd settle for a second $20 sale of the ProChannel concrete limiter. It's a glaring omission of X1 expanded/X2.

There have been two sets of presets. One out in December called the "TH2 Producer Content Pack"; a zip file containing the Produer-Jazz.xml preset file and a collection of IRs. The other one came out in January called "TH2 Producer Bonus Presets"; a zip file containing three XML preset files, "TH2 Producer Bonus Bank 1.xml", "TH2 Producer Bonus Bank 2.xml" and "TH2 Producer Bonus Bank 3.xml" I believe your post in the software forum got the January file "TH2 Producer Bonus Presets" installed.

I would like to see more Dim Pro, Rapture and Z3TA patches in the future though. For whatever it's worth, anyone w/ a Facebook account who liked Pro Tools Expert (like yours truly) got that same free pass. And I suspect that there were other similar page offering the same kind of deal... It's kind of like the exclusive deals on Ozone for Sonar users - a generic deal, warped up as an exclusive gift. ;)
