Upcoming Show
If anyone is located in the South Florida area, My band is playing at the Fort Lauderdale Beach Music Festival This Sunday at 1pm at the Big Kahuna. There will be 3 stages and all the top 40 bands of South FL will be playing there. Its from 11am to 4am. Wow, 40 bands divided onto three stages over only five hours? That only gives each band about 7.5 minutes to setup, play and breakdown... I guess that's enough.  I can see why they didn't invite the bottom 40 bands too though.

Not unusual, I participated at several music festivals over the years....
Normally there are two sets of backline gear. My first two outdoor concerts (music fest) one of them at Wingham Brush, NSW on the river bank were long-sets with the band about 30 minutes (and it rained a little, but that didn't stop the band or crowd,) best gig ever that was organized by local radio station, the other event with a band was a shorter set (3 songs) country fest, the last one in Darling Harbour, Sydney (No Covers Concert, 3 stages, organized by Songwriters Association) I was solo; just me and backing audio, I did 3 songs.

Can you read??, i know i cant spell, but its 11AM to 4AM, thats like 15+ hours. We play for 30 minutes

Hi, Portland has one of those types of things once per year ... and it is the greatest amalgamation of cheap and bad music I have ever seen ... but I guess that we should be proud that our kids got the chance rather than not! I don't know ... you could tell in some cases that many of these were not ready for prime, or garbage time ... and their comfort level just wasn't there ... and if it were my band ... folks, it doesn't matter if we hit the right or wrong note, but we're gonna raise hell and light a fire and some folks are gonna go ... wow ... who's that? Break a leg in the best theatrical tradition, and best of luck! I actually want to get up there with a band, that has a guitarist with the guitar up his rear end, and the drummer stoned senseless, and I'm doing Patty Smith/Alan Ginsberg/Robert Wyatt/James Baldwin/Gil Scott Heron impressions while also insulting the audience for not giving a cahoot about anything ... but it's fun while half drunk! I bet you someone will notice it ... even if it is to get us thrown off the stage ... which will be a bonus since the Willamette Week will immediately think that we were a very good band and someone did us wrong! The Oregonian, of course, will ignore the whole thing!
