OK - how about another Beatle's tune. (NEW MIX)

I did this one with Freddy - I did all the music - Freddy did the vocals. Thanks Freddy for helping me with Dizzy Miss Lizzie - it was a gas.

I admire anyone that covers the Beatles, and this version has a lot of good things going for it.  However, what was so great about the Beatles version was that it was raucous and raw while this version is somewhat polite and restrained.  Although technically this is superior, sometime raw emotion triumphs.

    All the best,

    Nicely done.
I agree the vox needs intensity.
    More scotch, more screaming. :)

    On first listen:

Fun version. Kick and bass seemed to be slightly fighting for the same space. Mabe EQ or side chaining could help?

Not too much wrong with this one Mark.

I hate to agree with everyone, Mark, but I do.

You most definitely need to get a load on before you tackle this one.  If you smoke, doing 5 cigs back-to-back should help with the vocal hoarseness effect.   I'm thinking Little Richard here, ya' know

    love this song,
shes a women, dizzy miss lizzy are two of my favorite beatles songs.
there is an anoying buzz going on somewhere cant pin it down.
i can relate with the others on the vocals,BUT...
the vocals i think you did pretty goood,i wasnt expecting the whal'in screams.

sounds like a song your very fond of and went at it,and made a great version at it.
my favorite thing here is your lead guitar work, exspecially the solo itself, magnificent, perfecto !
mark im still trying to take in catfish blues, that song is on repeat around my studio.
im constantly visiting soundcloud to hear that one.
how does one go about creating an intro as increadable as that.
and the solo flavors of hendrix.

    your an amazing musician.

A very different take on this. I was intially of the same mind as others who have commented, but as I listened I realized this worked very well. It is a country take on the song, not rock and that changes everything about the performance. On that level, the performance was spot on. Mix wise, well, its not the best I have heard from you, but what stood out the most was the vocals seemed to come and go within the mix; there were times when they just faded out. What was odd is it was not due to another instrument. Did you use a volume envelope on this? It does not sound like compression (or if it is, then it's the slowest pumping I have ever heard).

lynn, thanks - certainly not as much emotion as the Beatles - their version is amazing - thanks for the listen and comment. markno - thanks. Glenn - if I could sing I would - but if I was to try - I would get zero listens - I promise. ;-D bapu - I'm going to work on that - appreciate you lending me the ear. sorry phil - I don't smoke - and I don't sing - thanks for taking a listen - appreciate the comment. charlie - wow, that is very nice of you to say - I certainly appreciate. foxwolfen - yea, this was supposed to be a country/blues take on that tune. The vocals were not in an envelope - the only thing I did was add a bit of verb. Sounds like I have some work to do on this one. I'll probably post a new version soon. Thanks again all.

This were the first we rehearsed in our little band back on the 60ies and we didn't even understood what we were singing. This sounds a lot better;-)

foxwolfen - I went back and checked - I did have compression on the vocals - I took it off. I did a new mix - tried to separate the bass guitar and bass drum better - I panned them a bit differently and messed with the volume of both. I used a different delay on lead guitar. I did a couple of other minor things - this is what I came up with - hope it's better. Thanks again to all of you.

Well I'm not familiar with the Beatles version but I'm sure loving this version. Love the tone and style and the production and reverb used on the vox sure gave it an authentic 50's sound. Loved it!

Ohh Robby - why did you have to put that image in my head - I think I'm wounded. Thanks for the listen - I think you liked it. ;-D Grant - thank you - you must be very young not to be familiar with the Beatles version - appreciate the comment.

Mark, this sounded like a blast to play.

Now I am not the best at mixing or even close, so don't feel qualified to comment on that. But it sounded a little muffled to me from the start. I think it is the bass and guitars not blending well together?

Apart from that, it was a cracking little tune.
