After listening my ol ears say its quite a bit better than the Real series acoustic.  More natural strumming as well.  But then what do I know? I'm half crazy as it is.

I thought it sounded great, but at that price point ($219,  $269 after the introduction)
it's up against some very stiff (and less-expensive) competition. I'm still saving up for the Orange Tree Samples acoustic library. Sigh. Until then I'm stuck playing a real acoustic guitar - badly. You have to actually TUNE those things, you know.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

There is no substitute for a nice, well miced real acoustic guitar. And guitar players are a dime a dozen? Why not just work with some folks who can lay it down for you?

I purchased AGM and AGG last week and have been very pleased. There's much more than what the demo conveys, and it isn't too big a learning curve. It has a different workflow than what I expected, but as I get the hang of it I understand why it works the way it does. It hasn't had any hiccups working within SONAR, either, which is nice. It is more than just a sound. It is actually helping me understand how to create guitar parts that work for guitars.

Re: Ample Sound | Acoustic Guitar VSTi | AGL 2013/09/17 23:01:17 (permalink)
For the longest time I've been holding out & checking his site hoping that Ilya Efimov would have a bit better price on the Acoustic/Nylon Bundle, which includes both instruments and strum versions of each.

But...for about the same price, [actually $17 less], one could assemble their own bundle of AGL, AGM & AGF @ AmpleSound.

This would actually mean getting AGL for free because this bundle equals $152.00 off, which is more than the introductory price for AGL right now.

    Something to consider for sure.

Anyone know what the discounts would be for existing customers?

Of course today, OrangeTree comes out with their group buy deal structure to make decisions even tougher, but I suppose having more options is always good.

Re: Ample Sound | Acoustic Guitar VSTi | Updated 10/28/2013 2014/05/15 13:36:15 (permalink)
We have updated its Ample Guitar plug-ins AGF, AGG, AGP, AGM, AGT and AGL to v1.7.0 and AGML to v1.3.0.

    Changes:
    • Added Edit Panel. Users now can see samples being played on new panel and adjust tune and volume. They can also save result to file or load other presets.
    • New designed GUI, including resizable Customized Parameters Control dialog and other enhancements.
    • Update tooltips, including most content of user manual.
    • Revised user manual.
    • Fixed label edit bug. Users now can directly type in labels to control parameters precisely.
    • Fixed GUI freezing bug when running in Ableton Live on Windows.
    • Other minor bugs fixed.

*For previous projects users need to reverse the values of velocity layer 1 slider and velocity layer 3 slider. Now velocity layer 1 is the highest while velocity layer 4 is the lowest.

    Hey, Carl...
If I were to try the AGT or M and wanted to upgrade to the bundle or maybe even the bigger bundle, would I get credit for my original purchase?  I have a gaggle of virtual guitars already, and just picked up the GD-6 but really like the quality of your sounds.  Thanks!

There's a 'Customize discount bundle by yourself' in your user area. Depending on what you already have purchased you'll see the discounted price next to the retail.
I forgot what the % is though, you could email or ask on KVR.
