If you want a reverb that sounds expensive, audition PhoenixVerb.
Developed by the man behind many of Lexicon's classic algorithms.
IMO, It bests the Lexicon PCM bundle...

Cool, seems to sound quite good actually. Thanks for the tip!

I really dont like revebs that sounds like a buch of delays. That metallic sound.

I can also recommend 2C Audio reverbs..

    Breeze
    Aether
    B2

They sound "alive" ...listen to the demo's...

    http://www.2caudio.com/

and Valhalla Room - for $50, is a great reverb...

Ah, I looked at Aether and Breeze quite a while ago. Seems like they have had their price cut? I remember them as very expensive plugins. Will try the demo.

Are you guys using these? I wasnt 100% positive with the sound of Breverb.

FWIW, I spent a couple of days auditioning PhoenixVerb, B2, and Valhalla Vintage Verb... comparing to Breverb II, CSR, and several others.
I'd recommend auditioning with drum-kit... which is very telling.

    PhoenixVerb was my favorite.
    B2 was a close second.

To me, Breverb sounds "metalic"...that's just me...
    it's a nice reverb...but it doesn't suit me...

I have CSR, Breeze, IR-L, Trueverb, Breverb, TSAR-1R, RennVerb, PerfectSpace, blah blah blah..

CSR is quite nice but requires a lot of tweaking to get where it should be...
Breeze has loads of presets that are nice right out of the gate and require minor tweaking..
IR-L, with the right IR is nice, but Convo's tend to be resource heavy, Breverb is too metallic for
my taste, TSAR-1R is nice - simple controls, RennVerb is ok, PS, for coming with Sonar is a decent Convo...

It all boils down to taste and what you're trying to accomplish.  I'm sure that IR-Live will yield
    quite acceptable results...
Waves has an entire Library of IR's here..

    http://www.acoustics.net/

The Plate 140 is nice...as is the LX-48L

But, as I said, a Convo Reverb can be quite CPU unfriendly...
since I don't see any specs for your system...just be advised...

WAVES Live convo is useable but geared more for FOH applications.
Any of the other reverb plugins already mentioned are good choices but for a neutral verb it's EA's PhoenixVerb hands down.

FWIW I know of Sean of Valhalla is extremely impressed with PhoenixVerb, I suspect he's working on his own version.

    I have IRLive.
And yes it works well in X2.
It may be designed for FOH but definitely has a place in the studio.
    WAYYYY better than Perfect Space.

    +1 on that...

PS is ok...not the friendliest interface in the world....most first timers freak out when
when they can't figure out how to load the presets...LOL

I believe IR-Live is just a low latency version of IR-L with a more "friendly" interface...geared for live FOH applications
but also suitable for studio use...

I'd get it NOW if you're going to...it's $71.20 at Audio Deluxe right now..

    http://audiodeluxe.com/

Add it to your cart for the price and enter FEB20 in the COUPON CODE section...that gets you another 20% off..

Hmmm I'll check some of your suggestions out. The Poenix one probably is the best one but requires iLok. That crap never gave me anything else than trouble so I'm not taking that route again. (please no iLok discussion)

I bought the IR-Live from Audio deluxe for $71.20 Because I wanted to have a good live reverb to run on my headphone feed for a vocalist laying down tracks ..... Even with my DAW set at 512 or 1050 samples   it works well ... It stands up well to my Relab LX480 Lite for quality sound.

Tried the demo or IR-Live. Good enough to buy if you ask me. Waves had a special deal at the moment. If you enter feb20 as voucher you get 20% of it of. So I got it for like 79USD. Thats around 500SEK for me who lives in Sweden. Not much to think about really.

    Thanks for all the input!

Now that you own it go snag some IR's at Acoustics.Net and give 'em a whirl...

    Not that I'm aware of...

I know that IR-1 comes with 100 of them...

But I don't think you can download them all in one file...it would be ENORMOUS!  LOL

I bought those IR's on CD years ago from Waves for $10.00 IIRC. I don't know if you still can but DL speeds are so much faster these days anyways.

Make sure you pick up these Bricasti M7 IR's too, use the quad files for Waves.

In that case I'd start with Samplicity's Bricasti M7

Thanks for the heads up Carl.
I DL'd a bunch from Acoustics.Net. The thing I like about choosing IR's instead if a batch of them is that I don't want or need all of them so I just flipped through and DL'd the ones I wanted.

I noticed that the IR's are 32 bit (The Bricasti M7 ones) .
Do they work in the 64 bit version of IR-Live?

Also I was re-installing Sonar X2 in a fresh install of windows due to too many weird things going on.
I'm not sure but I think my IR-Live came with IR-1.
I have it in my Waves folder and not sure where it came from.
Unless it comes with the Ren Maxx bundle?

Any who, who cares lol I have it and I'll use it.

32b doesn't matter, use either the 44k or 48k but make sure they're the quad files for Waves plugins.

Possible you're seeing the IR-1 xps file? This is how you edit presets & possible to have the M7 or any other folders included in the preset menu as well.

    You're probably seeing IR-L...not IR-1

    IR-L is included in a few bundles...IR-1 is not...and costs $500 bones...

Waves is offering it to me this month (IR-1) for $90...I already have IR-L
IR-1 has far more options and settings the IR-L or IR-Live

    Cheers!

The Relab LX480 apparently is considered as one of the best algo reverb plugins ... but there is very few informations, almost no videos nor audio examples !! Does The Waves IR-Live have actually the same sonic results as the Relab ?
I was very impressed by the You Tube videos concerning the M7 bricasti (on vocals particularly) : Can we have the same subtle richness, depth and 3D effect while preserving the natural tone (of the voice) with the IR Live original presets ?

Can the Samplicity M7 impulse responses (normally intended for the Waves IR-1) be implemented in the IR Live ? And if it is the case, can we recover the true magic effect of the original presets of the true M7 ?

    Thanks for your attention
