JJP, Maserati and CLA plugins questions

Hi, I've been using Waves CLA , Maserati and JJP signature plugins with good overall results, just switching them on a track and playing with the controls. But because english is not my first language I wonder if somebody could help me to explain following control names:
- attitude
- punch
- edge
What do they mean with regards to the sound?

Also, I'd like to know what the difference is between spank and push settings in compression section of CLA plugins. What are these settings suitable for? (Except the answer if it sounds right it's right).

How do you use (if at all) these plugins, any tips welcomed. I know that it's a secret what's happening inside those plugins but if I somebody figured it out I'd be grateful to hear your opinions.

The Signature Series Plugins are emulations of the ENTIRE effects chain
of these Engineers for each type, Vocal, Drums, Guitar, etc...

On CLA, the PUSH and SPANK settings are differing amounts of Compression.

PUSH is less compression then SPANK...which is heavy compression...

I don't know about the Attitude, Punch, and Edge settings, but if that's on JJP then
it more then likely also represents varying levels of compression and drive.

I'll usually try them on certain things to see how they fit...sometimes yes...sometimes no..
but they sound good anyways...and definitely have a place in the arsenal...

I have both Maserati and Kramer, and have intents on getting all of the Signature Line...

Manny Marroquin is due to be released any day now...

Don't know if that helped you or not

The difference between spank and push settings has to be something more than the amount of compression, that's what the compression slider is for. I heard something about emulating different compressors...
And still some of these JJP name controls sound to enigmatic to me.
    Anyway thanks for replying.

Why would anyone buy a plugin with meaningless labels on its controls? I don't get it.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I don't have a clue why other people would do such a weird thing
But I can tell you why I bought them. I've been trying for years as a hobbyist to mix my own music. The results were varying. I read a lot about compression, eq, frequencies and so on. It helped me much but recently I had seen a good deals on these Waves plugins and gave them a try. I was suprise how good they sound and how little effort it costs me to achieve that. CLA plugins are easier to understand what knob does what, but still there are parts that I'm not sure as I mentioned in the earlier post. JJP plugins are more difficult to me what's going on under the hood.
Going back to your question. It's not enough to know the theory about mixing techniques (e.g. compressor's ratio, attack and so on) to have a well sounding mix. I bet you know a lot about it but still your songs (at least to my ears) don't compare to professional standards even the ones who mix everything "in the box" (e.g. Graham Cochrane).
I think it was worth buying theses plugins even if I use them in 50 or 60%.
