Tip: Managing Console Strips VIA key bindings.

So I'm sure many of the power users are aware of this but I just learned it and I think it is a massive time saver as far as keeping a heavily track laden console under control while mixing specific parts. I just thought I would share my X2 notes entry on this for some of the new guys. Essentially it's how to quickly hide and show track faders without having to open the Track Manager or access the right click menu every time. I've added a little more detail in parentheses after the bindings.

Show/Hide Tracks/Console Strips:

*For the following to work in the Console View you must have "Keep track/console visibility states in sync" selected in the Track Manager (press H to open Track Manager) otherwise the changes will only take effect in the Track View and not the Console. These show/hide bindings do not work on busses. Use the Track Manager to show/hide busses.

Show Track Manager = H   (opens Track Manager where you will find the Track View/Console Sync state option)

To Hide in focus Track/Strip = Ctrl + H   (track does not need to be selected... only in focus)

Show All Tracks/Strips = Shift + H   (will show every track/strip in the project including hidden tracks)

Show only selected Tracks/Strips = Ctrl + Shift + H   (for showing multiple tracks while hiding the rest... tracks must actually be selected)

Hope this helps someone. It's definitely gonna help me. Cheers.

    Thanks for the tip beep.

I think the single most important tip for speeding up work flow is to use key bindings.
I print out the Keyboard Shortcuts list from the manual, in landscape orientation, laminate the pages and keep it as a flip chart next to my workstation.
It's surprising how quickly you learn to navigate a program using just the keyboard.
