UNDER THE GROUND - demo

think some of you heard an earlier mix.  on this this one the mids are saturated more to bring extremely low tuned [C,G,C,G,C,E] guitars out & and i tucked the vox back a bit more too esp in chorus to get it more power-punk grunge post ramones cbgbs live show prominent drums vibe etc... mostly sloppy live scratch tracks with little production. fun song. crazy guitar solo

welcome
to one of those nightmares
from some of those daydreams
that come with bad timing

help me
dig a little further
goin' way past China
and/or Long Island,
you have a very pretty face
i'd love to stay here in your place
hiding out from the human race, but
i'll be under the ground (if you want me)
i'll be under the ground (if you want me)
i'll be under the ground (if you want me)
i'll be under the ground (if you want me)

did you
see a little movement?
feel a vibration
like a jackhammer?

don't fret
that's just a tunnel
i'm a makin' my wormhole
for going deep under

you have a very pretty face
i'd love to stay here in your place
hiding out from the human race, but
i'll be under the ground (if you want me)
i'll be under the ground (if you want me)
i'll be under the ground (if you want me)
i'll be under the ground (if you want me)

heaven help the motivated

Pretty cool this Daren. Not sure it was a good idea to send the vox back, as I can't really make them out.

Apart from that, the mix sounded great.

Another great tune from you guys, Daren... loved it.  Super grunge for sure, definitely captured the spirit.  The lyrics are cool, and I would have liked to have had a bit more clarity to them, though I'm not sure a clear vocal is appropriate for this genre.

I wish I had been listening on something better than my pc speakers, so please view this next remark in that context.  I'm not sure what you were after tone wise on the lead solo, but I was getting a kind of 'hollow', not so well defined thing here... again, might have been my system.  See what others say.

Overall- Great job, man... keep 'em comin'

Wild... had me rocking instantly. Yup, bring the vox up a bit. I think you need to tame the ride cymbals a tad. The are bit shrill. Love it.

Guitars sound great, drums and bass sound great, vocals are excellent especially the harmonies although I too would like to hear them moved a bit forward in the mix. They deserve to be heard more.

    Hey, Daren,

I remember liking the first mix on this cool rocker a while back, and this new version sounds absolutely killer!

Tons of great raw energy, cool performances, excellent vocals and a nice, punchy, "in yer face" mix to bring it all together.

Super stuff, brother, keep 'em comin'!

Daren, your super cool lyrics caught my attention fast.  More volume on the vox would send this over the top, methinks.  Congratulation on another well crafted song!!

I'd like the vox to have more presence and less ambiance (maybe?).

Other than that, no major crits here.

Well, that was interesting ... in a good, cool way. Vocals in some parts were hard to hear in my earbuds.
