Apreggiator making me slowly crazy <Resolved>

It's only playing notes in the same octave. I don't understand.

I insert soft synth... dim pro... set it to a guitar sound...

open PRV and add a note and drag it out for 2 measures... set the 2 measures to loop

the note plays in a loop

I hit the power button on the arp.

I set the preset to electric guitar 8.

I only hear the same not over and over.

What am I doing wrong here?

This has definitely worked for me in the past.

BTW, I even started a brand new project for this.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I continue to be puzzled. Some patterns are just of the same note over and over? It's kinda weird. I found a pattern that worked. anyway. gotta consider it resolved. I'll play around with the patterns more and see if I can figure out something.

I haven't gotten around to playing with arps yet,
but isn't there an number-of-octaves button on the midi track in the inspector ?

Maybe this might have something to do with it ?

There are two types of Arpeggiator patterns.

If I recall correctly, I do not have it in front of me to check.

Shapes will play the notes you hold down in a predefined sequence. If you hold down, say a C7 chord the motes of the chord will be arpeggiated. If you just hold down the C key it will repeat continuously as you have only told it to play one note.

Rhythms are triggered from a single root note.

    Yay! Thanks guys!

Just before coming here to post I re-watched
    SONARX1TipsandTricks section on the apeggiator.
Eli Krantzberg explained exactly this, and yes, that was my problem. I was trying shapes and I needed to be trying rhythms.
