Van Cliburn dies at 78

from bone cancer.
 
some of you may not know who he is/was.  he was a local Texas (Ft. Worth, was his home) classical piano icon.
 
Houston Symphony Orchestra at age 12
Juliard at 17
many other accomplishments.
 
every year in the spring Ft. Worth hosts a "Van Cliburn International Piano Competition" which is well renowned.
