Soundcloud Connection

All - I've searched through the forums and suck with no avail.  Has anyone had any issue with X2 stating auth failed when trying to export to SC?

I've tried to export directly to SC a few times, and it keeps saying the user/email & pass are incorrect, even though I can turn around, go to the webpage, put the same info in, and get in with no problem.

Is this a limitation on the X2 trial?  Is there a setting/limitation on the SC side I need to look at?

Thx in advance.

    hey mad H,

    welcome to the forum man.

do you already have a soundcloud account?
this might have something to do with it.
but then agqin you might be right about thedemo version not having access to this and they are indeed limitations.

let me look into this a little and get back to you.
if anything i hope by me bumping your thread it sees some more views.

I never use that option. I don't trust it. It's really not that big of a deal to just export normally and then upload the file manually. That way you can preview it to check for audio glitches, bad mixes, etc before unleashing it on the internet. Also you don't have to have your DAW hooked up to the internet. I don't like the idea of some website interacting with my most valuable/crucial piece of gear/software. I only connect to get updates or download new products from companies I trust.

Yes, I have a soundcloud account.  I'm used to exporting & uploading also.  Trying out the beta, so it was a feature I wanted to try.  I have a separate machine that's not connected to the internet I'd use it on for real production.

Why not upload your tracks to YouTube instead? As long as you upload them at 720p or higher, the bitrate is 192kbps as opposed to Soundcloud's 128kbps, and they use AAC encoding as opposed to Soundcloud's MP3. So a higher bit rate and higher quality data compression. Your songs will sound better, they'll be exposed to much larger potential audience, and you don't have to deal with Soundcloud.
