How to get console to remember view
Howdy. My console view has two "narrowed" tracks and several tracks of a drum kit I don't want to show. Despite widening the two narrowed tracks again and again, and despite hiding the tracks I don't want to view, they always reappear as they were when I reopen the project. I hide and widen, save, close, open, and boom. back to the view they had before. What am I doing wrong? thanks.

Just tested on my rig and no issues must be some sort of corruption in the project. If you create a new project do you get the same results?

hmm... If you use the Track Manager to hide the unwanted tracks they should stay hidden. Not sure what can be done about the narrow strips as I don't use that function (yet) but maybe a saving it as a screenset might work?

I have used track manager--has no effect. This is from a project template, but the tracks in question (that won't hide) were added to the project after opening and are not part of the original template. This is the same project that earlier was somehow corrupted. I began again on an earlier version, but I'm starting to fear the whole thing is somehow screwed. Should I export every single track to a new project and start fresh? That is a crappy, time consuming thought to have to replicate everything, but there is a lot of weirdness with this project that I can't really explain.

When you go into "track manager", is the checkbox checked that says something about syncing the track view and console view?

Just a stab in the dark, but would screensets being locked affect this? Still getting used to Sonar here (previous Cubase user) so not sure if I'm talking rubbish.....

CPFC1985 Just a stab in the dark, but would screensets being locked affect this? Still getting used to Sonar here (previous Cubase user) so not sure if I'm talking rubbish..... I think the answer is in the screenset. AFAIK, you will always be using a screenset, whether you selected and/or defined it yourself or not, so changes you make to your view will not be saved for next time unless you have unlocked the current screenset and locked it again so it's "up to speed" on the latest situation. Before screensets, IIRC, the session would be reloaded as saved with the project the last time, but now we have screensets, you need to make sure your screenset has taken your current view on board to get it back again automatically next time. Otherwise, the project just uses what it finds in the (unchanged) screenset. How many times I have hidden the Metronome and Preview buses only to see them back again because I didn't "inform" my screenset.

This used to catch me out all the time with screensets. The formula is: 1 - Unlock current screenset 2 - Make your changes 3 - Lock Screenset 4 - Save Project
