After hearing their synths again last week, I just couldn't resist. I just grabbed this baby for $50:  Tough choice between that one and MS-20 but I settled for this one - for now. I also have my eyes on the Wavestation, but for now I think all around I'll get more millage out of the Mono/Poly. In fact, it's already made it's way into one of the songs I'm working on - bass, arpeggiated stuff and even the main lead line. It's all over the place. :) Goes right into the favorites folder, along w/ Steinberg's Retrologue and Arturia's MiniMoog.

I'm having a sever GAS attack these days - only, it's focused towards certain specific classic synths... I've been listening to too much Kraftwerk and early Depeche Mode I guess.
One of the reasons I'm someone is selling S1. ;)
Incidentally, much to my surprise, I did demo Arturia's Prophet and it didn't wow me. I mean, it is awesome but it's not what I'm looking for it seems. Same for their Moog Modular.

These ones have got midi and you don't trip over them when they are stashed in the hallway. I love me some Korg Legacy collection. The digital ones (M1 and Wavestation) are even better because they are pretty much exact clones of the hardware. $50 for an actual M1, I remember my mate picking one up from Charing Cross Road for £1500 IIRC and being totally blown away by getting such a bargain....

It's the Aurturia Mini Brute mono phonic all analog synth.
It was released a while ago and stock availability seems to finally have caught up with the initial demand.
I was waiting to get one... but got distracted buying microphone parts. :-)
Next time I have some fun money I'm gonna get one and have some fun.

+1 JB I too have the M1 which is an excellent and very useful synth. It was a difficult decision on selecting just one as their whole Legacy collection are top notch. Well done on the Mono/Poly Rain!! (Now if I can only figure out how to play with two left hands......)

I use to own the Korg Poly 6 and the M1. Sold both of them, good to know I can get em both in software format for about $4,000 less than what I paid. Both hardwares have way less polyphony compared to the software versions.... I might get the Poly, M1 and Wavestation.

IIRC, Korg has a (yearly) sale where you could get all 3 for $99......I think during spring/summer??

Seems I picked the right time - KORG has just announced that their plugs were finally 64 bit, minutes ago. :)
Ol Pal, you're making it difficult for me to resist - that Wavestation looks like something I could spend days messing with. The sound of that thing is amazing.
Allegedly, it does sound pretty much exactly like the real thing - I couldn't tell, I've never worked w/ one, but it does sound familiar, as such an infamous beast should. (Reviewers noticed minor differences in a couple of others like MonoPoly, which were modernized a bit.)

The Poly 6 is a good choice, but yeah man you may as well go for Wavestation go get em man!! I listened to the demos of Poly 6 and WaveStation on YouTube, they both sound great. The Wavestation is ideal for creating interesting 'moods', adding nice changes in the arrangements.

The great thing about the WS plug is that it contains ALL the banks from the ROMS and RAMS of all the different models.

I don't think you will be disappointed there Rain. I had the M-1 hardware keyboard and I can vouch that the sounds are identical. The only difference is you could go broke buying sound cards for the hardware unit and like Mr. OL'Pal says you get all of those free with the M-1 and the Wavestation.
Lately for me I use my old hardware rack synths for a lot of what I do, but then I have never been a died in the wool analog synth guy either. I mostly use em' for fill to something else. You can find some real deals on hardware rack units out there.
