Keybinding for MIDI DOES IT WORK?

I'm trying to assign keyboard shortcuts to midi notes. However, none of the mapping is working. I've hit apply after binding then ok after binding. Then vice versa.... Pressing the keys on my apc40 shows the Note Number C6 or Cb7 whichever I happen to be pushing. And the bind line goes to the command, but I can't get any of it to work. Any help would be appreciated. Even a response such as... Hey! It's broken as of Sonar X2a would be better than me guessing.

This worked for me just fine in X1, but I haven't tried it in X2.  But one thing occurs to me.  Note designations like C6 are not standard.  I've seen middle C designated as C3, C4 and C5 by different manufacturers.  MIDI note numbers are precise identifiers of a specific note.  I'm not at my DAW and don't recall how you identify the keyboard notes, so maybe this is a completely irrelvant response.

I messed with this once. I thought it was unusual that you couldn't assign a specific midi device. Unless you assign a controller to be used along with the midi note, any time you hit one of the assigned notes on any midi input you'll be activating the key binding.
I have an old Akai MPD-16 hanging around that has 4 rows of 4 pads. It would be cool to leave that sitting on my desk set up for keyboard shortcuts only.

It does work in X2. It seems to require that a shift option be assigned and used along with the key bound note.

thanks for the input guys. Joeb, I'll try that tonight. I didn't know about the shift modifier being a "have to" kind of thing.
