Matrix view in X2 vs. X1

If you are a Matrix user and have both X2 and X1, is there a difference between the two? I am considering upgrading to X2, and Matrix view features and any enhancements is one of my decision criteria. For example, in X1's Matrix, I haven't found a way to automatically progress from one column to the next to the next. Unless I'm missing something, and am just not getting it. I'd like to be able to drop clips into the cells, and then play through the entire pattern while being able to "jam" and record onto a new track. Is this possible in X1? X2? Thank you, Todd

it syncs much better for outputs to soft synths using midi loops - there were some bugs that noel fixed in x2a and it seems pretty stable...  x1 was hit or miss for me and rapture, esp, seemed to trigger at weird places in midi clips.

Thanks chuckebaby and swamptooth, helpful links and good feedback. I looked into Matrix a bit more. I understand that it is more stable. I don't see any major feature enhancements, though, over the version that is in X1. Still exploring, along with the other differences between X1 and X2 to see if I want to make the jump. Todd
