assigning a drumkit from studio instruments drums to pads of a midi hardware keyboard
So i'm new to this forum, and planning on to getting sonar x2 studio edition with a novation launchkey which has 16 velocity-sensitive pads. The question is already written in the subject, and if you think it's important, the novation launchkey uses incontrol to map its buttons, faders and maps to the utilities of the daw. I am a total newbie to the software. I can't wait buying those two things and I'm just waiting for your answers :)

Cant really give you a answer on that, I mainly do audio recording but what I do use in X1 sounds real good to me. I havent made the jump to X2 as of yet but will sometime. Maybe someone else will chime in on that part.

I just watched the vid again, and because I won't buy the producer version, i won't get session drummer 3. So is it possible to do it with studio instruments drums ? Do you also have some electro/dance drum sounds on the piano roll view with the studio edition ?

Digi, thanks for the props buddy :) yes you will still be able to do triggering with studio drums. you'll just simply assign the pads to the launch key tap with your fingers and tweak velocity's and what not in the prv.

I'm looking into getting a Launchkey 49 and would like to know if anyone has had successful communication between it's transport and fader controls with Sonar X2? Need something with a smaller footprint than my DM-24 and Korg M1 combination.
