Question for any Chromaphone users
I have Chromaphone. The current Content Club offering is an AAS sound pack. I have that sound pack working fine with the included AAS player. I've seen a couple times now in Cakewalk promo emails regarding the AAS sound packs that they are designed so they can also be used in Chromaphone. For the life of me, I can't figure out how that sound pack can be imported or opened in Chromaphone. I know I can go to AAS support to ask, but thought I'd start here in case someone in our group has a tip on this. Anyone know?

Hi, I'm a Chromophone user. I must admit, I've not bothered with any of the sound packs available, so I can't help you straight away. I haven't got time right now to power up my studio, but as soon as I do I will have a look into this. cheers

synkrotron - great! Thanks for another vantage point on on this. The AAS Sound Packs have some great sounds by the way. I'm very glad Cakewalk arranged to get us these for an introduction to what AAS has to offer in that regard.

When you unzip the file ther should be both an exe (which includes the player) and another file with a different suffix I can't recall something like .aif? Move it to your desktop. Then in Sonar, open your Aas synth (in this case Chromaphone) and click the menu button at the top left. There should be an option to import. I own Chromaphone, but opted for an ultra-analog bank this time so that is freshest in my mind. But if I recall correctly Chromaphone is similar enough that this should get you going.

Brando, That's the type of stuff I've tried. Exactly the process I thought would be available. I just don't see it yet. Please let me know when you're at your machine if you see the actual path to do it. That's why I'm stumped so far.

Ya it looks like Chromaphone is different from the others and you have to place the banks into a specific path: I found this from my Chromazone soundbank purchase read me file - sorry for the confusion. It has been a while since I've downloaded a soundset for Chromaphone- 5 Chromaphone Banks: CZ Achromatic Percussion CZ Chromatic Percussion CZ Hybrid Instruments CZ Synths&Keys CZ Textures In order to use the patches inside the Chromaphone Patch Browser place the 5 CZ folders here: Mac: User (you)/Library/Application Support/Applied Acoustic Systems/Chromaphone/Banks Windows: %AppData%\Applied Acoustics Systems\Chromaphone\ Looks like there is no import required Hope this helps and again sorry for steering you wrong

Brando - thanks I'll try that. Definitely new approach. I was trying to do an add through the UI. I'll post back after the attempt.

Brando - if you have a moment can you follow your own steps and see if you can get one of these sound sets in? I followed your directory tips/navigation. I also discovered if you click the Manage button at the top, and then the show files button at the bottom you get to the same place. However, the sound set file is a .axf file which doesn't seem to correspond to the banks files. The banks files are files, not directories as you have described. Just in case I created directories with the names you've provided and put the .axf file in the keys&synths directory. None of these steps have helped as yet to access the sound set in Chromaphone. That's where I'm at presently.

Hmmm... I'm struggling to understand this myself and for some reason, on my windows 7 lappy there are certain folders that are denying me access, so I've got some weird things to sort out first. Sorry

lawajava Brando - if you have a moment can you follow your own steps and see if you can get one of these sound sets in? Well I'm not sure where to go. Looks like Chromazone was a 3rd party soundset so I went back and found my installers for Cardinals and for Kitnetix, both of which were purchased from the AAS website. So I ran the installer, (re-) installing both to both the 32 bit and the 64 bit versions, and all I got was a message saying that they had installed correctly. I was hoping to get a look at the readme, but nada. (Actually, on edit - I did get a look at the Kitnetix readme - and all it said was that for Chromaphone, "Kitnetix will automatically be added to Chromaphone if it is installed on your computer.") Honestly this has worked very well for me, and as mentioned, I own several Chromaphone, String Studio, Ultra-Analog, Tassman 4, and Strum Electric banks which have all "just installed". (Although as noted previously, Chromaphone seems to be different to the others). As I mentioned, I picked up an ultra-analog soundset this time, as I actually have all of the chromaphone banks for sale at AAS, as well as a couple of 3rd party ones not at AAS. If this isn't working for you, (maybe) you have an atypical installation of chromaphone which is fooling the soundset installer? I would contact AAS to get them to help you out.
