modulation to deal with machine gun effect?

I made myself a Kontakt virtual bass and I'm looking for ways to modulate especially on repeated notes like a one-note bass line. I don't want to flange and/or phase - what else can I do?

Isn't there some kind of tone modulator that can be set to random retrigger?

Thanks - rev

You might want to pose this question on the Kontakt forum, where there are experienced script writers who could offer suggestions. kontakt scripting is very powerful, and you can modify EQ, attack and release. Of course, the elegant solution is to re-record all your notes and use them as a round-robin layer. Commercial libraries have as many as six layers for that purpose.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

have you considered the "glitch" effect for this purpose?
