An Encounter I Had

If you want someone to loose respect for you tell them you are a musician. Sometimes I forget that and have to remember to say I'm retired military. I can remember when it was the other way around.

    Ha....times have changed haven't they.
The military personnel today experience a much different reception (for lack of better words) than during my era.

    What branch?
    What years?

    Carry on....

I'm perusing this looney bin so 'normal' is hardly the operative word for this bi-pedal unit.

Went through that musician "judgment" thing for years, but I was a happy guy back then. Joined the corporate world and got respect for it, but wasn't a very happy guy. Left that to play poker professionally for the last 10 years. Been a very happy guy, but it's not something a majority of folks can relate to, so the judgement thing is always there.

I'm considering opening a small used car lot. Then I'll get some respect.

Could be worse than a musician, you could be an accountant.

BS .... all you have to tell them is that you are a writer, so everyone, this board included, can ignore me, from the moment I fart to the moment I say something.

It's worse with writers, because in this country there is no respect, care, or understanding for what the language is, and there are no "arts" ... and the only art they know is to slave away the life for another dollar ... and watch that other star collect yet another dollar from you! ... real democracy!

Never ... mom says ... go ahead, just let her count ... just be prepared to pay for it, because the IRS loves people that intentionally mis-count!

And the one entiry that will not go away with bankrupcy? Correct .... that one!
