Whoops.
So I've decorated the room, speakers properly mounted, new PC and Akai 49 keyboard, X2a etc. For some reason my right arm leaves the mouse in an outward arc, and collects the pint of Badger I left on the desk. Which goes a-tumblin' to the floor and hits the edge of the keyboard. Despite quick mopping, the bottom octave C, C#, D and Eb now make an irritating 'clitching' sucrose sound when pressed. All of which means my new setup missed a vital part of the specification. I know that because right now as I write, another pint is sitting in the same place. Eejit Wood.

You need beverage pedestal. A small table just big enough to hold a beer and maybe an ashtray that's a little shorter than your DAW desk. Send the beer flyin' and you're only mucking up your floor. I used to put a lot of thought into my beverage placement when I was a hopeless drunk... after ruining some peripherals of course. /no longer a hopeless drunk

Open it up and clean it with a damp cloth?

*NOTE* Your PC doesn't really have a retracting drink holder. HTH.

Yeah the beer pedestal is the missing piece in the spec. Would love to have an ashtray as well but that would just tempt me to smoke again... Might try opening up the kb if it get's too annoying, but I want to avoid that if at all possible.

The stickiness will go away eventually. Dust will stick to the beer and over time it'll just wear away. That said you could get some pipe cleaners, dip them in a bit of low proof rubbing alcohol (if it's just the plastic and not near any electrical contacts***) and slide them in there to get the bulk of the crud out. I've refurbished lots of stuff using similar methods. You may void your warranty if you open it up. *** ... in which case use water, then use a dry pipe cleaner or tissue wrapped around a paper clip to dry it then don't turn the unit of for 24 hours after)

That's really a shame. All that beer wasted.
