Omnisphere & Trilian in X2
I am Spectrasonics-centric and I have a template set up in X2 with Omnisphere, Trilian & RMX with all 8 outputs and (obviously) 8 midi tracks. In this template I have 2 patches loaded in Omnisphere (outputs A & B, midi ch. 1 & 2) and I can't get the patch on ch. 1 to work now (output b, ch. 2 is fine). I keep thinking it's user error or my midi keyboard, but I still have Trilian kicking a** on ch. 1 output A. I've had weirdness since I said bye to 8.5, but I think the whole simple instrument track thingy (which I don't use) has seriously and continuously messed me up. I'll call CW today, but does anyone else experience this?

Make sure your Omni, Trillian and Stylus are up to date. I had issues until i updated everything. Instrument tracks cause me trouble so I stay away. I run all 3 with no issues as of now.

Hey Declan, This sounds like it's something you are doing rather than a cakewalk thing. Double check everything you are up to first...I bet it is a routing issue.. It's definitely not a Cake or Spectrasonics issue. Have all three here going well (except RMX which can crash my system)

i would open a new session and remake the template. i have had zero problems with omni or trillian. are you seeing the patch selector A light up to indicate its receiving MIDI?

Jimbo, I'm updated with all things Spectrasonics and happily waiting for updates . wynsong, I definitely know it's something on my end, but the routing is exactly the same on my Omni & Trilian tracks with erratic/bizarre results. The midi comes through, but the audio tracks do/don't respond sometimes with identical routing. I'm certainly not attacking Sonar, but I can't even open a new project with Omnisphere and get it to work properly now. I'm just embarrassed and trying to figure this out. Thanks for the responses.

Declan, omnisphere and trilian work great here too. Why don't you try to recreate your template from scratch? Load omnisphere and trilian, set them up just how you like them, avoid simple instrument tracks (maybe stick them in track folders), and save as a template. It might take a little while - but it might take even longer trying to fix the one you have ;-)

There are significant file format differences that might be the cause of your problems. (Besides, there are new features in the newer templates that you might not have seen...but you'll be glad you incorporated.) If you start over from an old 8.5 default template for instance, you'll just inherit the same problems you're getting now.

Hi Declan, Can you share that template with me? Would love to check how youre using it with multis. I also use a lot omnisphere and trillian but I am new to both of them. Don't have RMX though, but I don;t think that is a problem to check how you use it. thanks regards, joni
