Using SoundCloud
I've been looking into signing up for soundcloud but with all the reading I've been doing I still don't have a good answer to the simple question of cost. It says 'sign up for free', and I see there are premium packages and such, but I still cannot tell if there is a cost involved for just basic use. All I really want to do is be able to put a song out there and then be able to link to it for others to hear. Like say for here on the forums. Can someone enlighten me on this? Thanks Dave

Yeah, I think the first hour or so--or the first dozen or so songs--is free, give or take. Go for it!

I'm not sure what you mean by "the first hour or so" I can't get to soundcloud's website from work to verify, but there is a space limitation on each level of account. the free account has a space level lower than he next level paid account and the highest level has more. you can upload any type of music file you want. 128kbps MP3's (lowest file size) or wave files (highest file size) or anything in between. the limit is not how many songs, but how much filespace you use.

From SC It is 120 minutes All our subscription plans come with a total of upload minutes/hours -- they don't reset every month. This also applies to yearly subscriptions. If you renew your yearly subscription, you are only securing the upload time you had previously. You can always easily remove and add new tracks within these total upload minutes. If you need more room on your account, compare our Pro plans.

thanks for all the feedback guys. 120+ minutes free is way more than I would need so that sounds good. Think I will give it a try. dave
