Please QuickTime video export or "replace audio in video file" option on 64 bit.
I know Apple doesn't release 64 bit Windows QT library yet but i think CW should start to find another way to handle QT formats in 64 bit version. Hopefully we can play QT videos (with small issues) after installing k-lite codec packs but there is no way to export them. Yes i know, i can use another program to put master audio file on the video but i have no time for it. I'm scoring TV commercials and directors always want to take a listen my composition with video. So I have to send my works them about 5-6 times until final version. And mostly it happens in one or two days! QT video export or at least "replace audio in video" option would be nice.

You can get Quicktime Pro for like 20 bucks. After scoring in Sonar, you can export audio only, then add it to your Quicktime video very easy with Quicktime Pro.

I have the same issue, Clients needing music samples.
The best thing to do is get a seperate computer to handle this issue. Export a stereo wav file out of Sonar (something Sonar does exceedingly well and quick). Marry the music to picture with QT PRo or any other program, render a new QT and upload it for your client.
This keeps your DAW off the internet and free for you to do more work composing music.
I will relegate my main DAW to a secondary video computer after updating every 3 years or so.

Not to hijack the thread, but it is related -
Alot of my work lately has been web videos/product rollout music, bumpers (intro/outros) and music beds. I am starting to notice a trend of clients requesting me to add the music to their final cut and render the final version myself.
I figure for the music house, this is an odd request, but I have had 3 clients request this over the last few months. I have done it with for no extra charge, but am considering adding an extra fee, for the price of extra software to do the job.
Luckily Jimbo had recommeded Sony Vegas a while back, so I am able to complete the clients requests. Are you guys running into this request by clients?

The video export functionaility in Sonar would be a welcome improvement to my workflow also.

The video export functionaility in Sonar would be a welcome improvement to my workflow also.
I understand your feelings, but why do you want an audio app rendering video? If you are working for someone, scoring to picture, dealines are usually very nasty. Unless Sonar could create a "upload friendly" picture file like QT in the same amount of time it spits a stereo wav, I would not use it. It just makes more sense to me to have an old computer laying around doing your video chores, uploading and dloading, leaving you to work on the main task at hand, composing to picture. The secret hidden power of Sonar (at least for me) is in the final stages of the whole process. Sonar mixes down stems and can create a time stamped OMF that I can send to be mixed into Protool sessions quicker than I can say "Boo". I'm kinda happy with the way Sonar does this stuff. I hope the bakers stay out of the video end....and I work with pic every day of my life. @ Mike...yes i get the same requests lately...put the music into the file for the client. I hand off the project to a audio mixer at this point. Some (most) of the audio mixers i have worked with are looking for work these days, so I throw them a bone. It is a good business practice all the way around. I "dropbox" them stems and the Original Picture file. The audio mixer will do a quick mix, put a nice final touch on your music and send the final product to the client. This does a couple of things...things sound better, keeps a audio mixer working and opens up the audio mixer to reccomend you for other jobs. Can cost you anywhere from $35-$200 depending on the budget, but it can be the best marketing money you will ever invest. Keep those audio guys on your side.

Yup, I have no issue with stem exports, OMFs and broadcast wavs...BUT to be able to lay off a video clip for example from Sonars timeline would be awesome and coupled with a better support of codecs would increase power to my workflow. Jimbo 88

no. you don't want cakewalk doing anything related to video codecs. far too complex. QT alone is a can of worms. so now every time apple updates QT, your vids may not work. QT Pro is the way to go.

Just an AVI from the timeline would be fine....The last feature I worked on was a pain in the ass rendering off audio clips / stems and then resyncing them in Premiere then re-rendering off again just for a 1 min clip.
Although I realise this option would never happen.

Try exporting Broadcast wavs and OMF, both are time stamped so no re sync should be needed. Also Make your wav file from Sonar the same size as the pic file. So just drop in the audio and drag the clip to the very front...bingo re-synced (re-sunk??). )
