changing clip start points - paste not working for values

I am so frustrated with X2 right now. I believe I have seen this in X1 also.

When trying to change the clip properties start time, I grab it from a take lane - hilite clip, copy start time from clip properties, drag clip to new lane, edit start time by pasting value - nothing gets visibly pasted even though the option is tere to paste. When hitting enter, it goes to 1:1:00

I expect that the value would stick from the paste, but nothing gets pasted.

CW TS has confirmed this also. They are bugging it up.

Right now, you can't copy and paste clip start times. Well, I can't.  I am checking to see if a intermediate method might help. Maybe copying to notepad or something.

copying the value to notepad for reference, then copying again for paste into X2 seems to work for now. It would be nicer if X2/X1 kept the contents of the clipboard between C&P action.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your intent, but it sounds like you just need to hold Shift while dragging the clip from one lane to another. This will preserve its start time.

yep! that worked for the same timestamp in a different lane. The only problem I have is when I want to put that clip in another position. Say a repeating phrase or similar clip further down the timeline. I usually put the timestamp in the start entry and it slides there without issue.

Great find though! never used that.
