Buying Time - New Plugins needed
Hi all, From time to time I like to get new products, both to inspire me to producing something different and to change the way my projects sound completely. With this, I am also getting a new DAW and few pre-amps/mics. But, specifically to plugins: I just bought Komplete 9 Ultimate (pre-order) which I think is an amazing band for the bucks. You get 60 packages for just over a $1000. Unbeatable deal I think. Now I want to upgrade my brass tools. Since I am using a lot of brass in my current productions (mainly for tv and film productions) I want to get the latest stuff there is out there. I already have: - Wifi (trumpet and trombone) - Mr Sax T (the old Kontakt version) - First Call Horns - Garritan Jazz and BB I was thinking of getting the acclaimed Broadway Big Band but I am more inclined to get the Lite version first and then upgrade if need ($2300 vs $499). And also looking into the Wivi Band ($150) and The Saxophones from sample modeling (4 saxes for $350). Anyone working with X2 and any of these plugins? Any suggestions/issues? Thanks joni

Hi Scott, The Vienna Dimension Brass sounds good and it looks like i was done with extreme attention to detail. But it won't work for me as it is aimed to symphonic stuff. Although I also work a lot on epic scores (and here I use EWQLSO) and need brass for pop productions....mostly jazzy and latin styles. Thanks a lot for your input. best, joni Vienna Dimension Brass garrigus Vienna Dimension Brass is another good one. Scott -- Scott R. Hi pp, The session horns look amazing and I can't wait to try it out. Although I don't think it is going to be useful for solo instruments as it was made to sound as a session. I might get The Saxophones for that and maybe also the broadaway lite... thank you regards joni

Just my opinion but I have Garritan Jazz and BB and if I had to do it over, I wouldn't. I'd have a look at IK Philharmonic over that and anything EWQL

I don't like Garritan Jazz and BB too. Not realistic at all. For sax my favorite are the sax family from sample modeling. Look forward to try their new swam engine. thanks

Hi Scott, I have been listening to Chris Hein Horns...they sound good. Finally there are a lot of options to choose from. I'll make a decision during the weekend and maybe will get a couple of them. Broadway Big Band and The Saxophones are strong potential winners. Let's see... have a great weekend joni
