How To Configure MIDI Pitch Bends for Soft Synth Keyboard Interface (Korg O1W fd)???

Hi everyone,

Here's the rub: I'm in Sonar X2 Pro, and one of my controlers is an old Korg O1W fd.  This keyboard has a joy stick or pitch bender on it. Right now Sonar is configured so that the pitch bends either up or down by only a whole step, but I have a project that would require a full octave drop down. Of course, I've tried changing the internal setting on the keyboard, and that's easy, but those changes do not effect  the soft synths in Sonar. So, for example, when I have either Dimention Pro or Cake Strings open and engage the the stick it merely moves up or down a whole step.

I've tried researching this on Cake TV and YouTube but have found nothing specifically about this. As always, your suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Chris

It's not actually Sonar that interprets pitch bend to an interval. It's each individual patch of each individual synth. For "general midi" synths, there is a spec that recommends a default of +- 2 semitones for the whole pitch bend range, but there is also a general midi Registered Parameter Number that can reconfigure the pitch bend range of a synth. Perhaps TTS1 would respond to these general midi messages, but many other synths would probably need their patch parameters modified to get the pitch bend range you want.
