We're almost there...
And man, it's getting hard to focus and work on music... Not counting the fact that I haven't been sleeping too well for the last month or so. At least this leaves me w/ plenty of time to figure out how I want to set up stuff in my new workspace.
The room is small - something like 11 x 16 at its max - but there's the closet taking a few feet off of the length, behind me. I guess the good thing is that it kind of breaks the geometry. :s
On the other hand, I don't have much stuff to fill the room. My desk is 2 x 4 and it holds pretty much all I need - mixer, midi keyboard, preamp and such. The extra shelf gives me room for the monitors and the yet-to-come flat screen.
I intend to place the desk pretty much in the middle of the room, roughly 4 or 5 feet away from the wall behind, and straight in the middle width-wise. I'll probably get two stands for secondary monitors, which I'll place behind the desk, further on each side.
That leaves the guitars and my amp, which I'll most likely place in the corner behind me. If I need to mic a cab, I have my wife's office in the next room and one of the guests bathroom close-by, or one of the closets.
For the time being, I've planned on 5 or 6 basstraps, and moving on w/ room treatment from there.
So we're moving Wednesday, but we'e already started bringing stuff over there, and I'll spend my whole day there Tuesday because we're expecting a bunch of things to be delivered. Meaning I'll have the day to set up the basic of my workplace (I dare not say
studio). Or maybe paint the room.
Red would look good. Lots of red. And black.
Man, I can't wait!
Diego - the studio mascot - is already there, keeping watch. ;)
