First New Geronimo Cowboys tune in five years.

OK - it's been five years. We decided to try another one and this is what we came up with. I wrote the music on this one - Mike wrote the lyrics. Mike sang and played bass. Bill Davies did the keyboard on this. I played guitar, programmed the drums and did the mix. Hope you enjoy Sometimes a Man Thanks for taking a listen - appreciate all comments.

    Cool Beans??

I like the way this has turned out Mark.  As a matter of fact I was just listening to this a couple of day ago and wondered if you were able to develop this song further.

I Like it!!  This song reminds me of the lyric "Don't give me no lines and keep your hands to yourself"  LOL!

I went back and listened to Silly String. I believe Warren was on bass and Bill Davies did the sitar - I did everything else.

I've got Scott doing some violin - if you have time - do a couple of verses and I'll extend the length of the tune. I'd love for you to play on that tune. I'll be in San Francisco for the next few days. I'm going to assume you'll play sax on that - I'm going to extend the song now. ;-D

My hero's have always been Cowboys...

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but "I enjoyed your organ."

It got a little loose there @ 1:30? And again at 1:54, that organ needs to go to the 4 in the 1/4/5 with everyone else! He doesn't get to break the rules.

It sounds like it's the end of the night and the band has had a few :-) It sounds good though?

I found that one on my CW projects. I was working on it but I never got past half the song because I couldn't get the lyrics, bass and feel of the vocal to my satisfaction.  Glad you got it done.  Oh, I sent an mp3 of what I had.  Talk at ya later.

Ha --- I luv this!  It is kind of like the Blues meets Beatnik Bop.  Excellent performances by everyone and the mix sounds great.  Your creativity sure does shine on this one.  The music, arrangement, and performances really set-up that kind of feel so that you just can't help boppin' to the beat.  I'm not talking about going crazy wild but bein' cool and boppin' to the beat.  To me that's finding the shade on a hot sunny day!!!!!
    Excellent stuff.

    Hey, Mark,

Wow, you guys did a phenomenal job on this very cool, gritty blues rocker!

I really love that guitar tone and tasty playing, Mike's vox and bass were super, and Bill's monster B3 was the sweet icing on the cake!

    Dynamite work, guys, great stuff!

    Hi Mark,

I like the way you've taken the standard blues form and really sorta twisted it around and made it your own here.

Nice playing from all involved and nice job on the mix.

I went to your main soundcloud page at https://soundcloud.com/macdaddy and it's there at the time. Nice mellow tune. Interesting drum <--- Over there. Sounds like a fretless bass. The vox are pretty loose in places, but it feels like that's what you were going for.  Guitar sounds great.

Thanks Robbie. Yea, I think you are a bit kind using the term loose - I think there are a couple of places where we actually lost it. But, the sound Mike and I have put out has always been a bit loose - but, we do have fun.

    Thanks again.
