Control Surface/Audio Interface

Hello all.

I am looking for an audio interface that also acts as a control surface that I can use with Sonar X2.

A while back I had the Tascam and it worked okay but got a little twitchy sometimes.

Any suggestions on a control surface that I can also use an audio interface that plays nicely with Sonar?  Thanks.

V Studio gear by Roland will do a good job. VS 700, VS 100, VS 20.

I've been using the VS-20 for about a month now. I love it. But, it is tailored to my needs, as a guitarist. There's a mic input, built in stereo mic, stereo line in. But, there is only on stereo output and no midi connections. I'm limited to 44.1/16bit, but, it totally meets my needs ... AND works GREAT!!

I use a Allen & Heath ZED-R16 which has a MIDI control section. I don't use the channel faders much in that role as I mainly use an MCU & XT for that but it is capable of it although the faders aren't motorised. As an interface it is superb especially in a studio where DAW use isn't the only consideration.

I'm going to get rid of it and the Mackies and invest in one of these as soon as I can justify it. (to the wife, not myself I've already done that ). That does have a motorised option

I got a VS-100 for $250 and it integrates quite well...I use it as a controller and not so much as an interface, but it seems to be great all around.

After trying tascam and M-Audio, i decided having my interface seperate from my CS was the way to go. I currently use the MCU pro and C4 as my CS and the M-audio profire 2626 paired with the Octane as my interface. I'm quite happy with this setup (although the bakers wont let the pro channel be controlled as a vst to my frustration) Karl, That A&H board is a beauty. wish it were closer to 5K than 10k. Do you know that it works well as a controller with sonar? at least as well our MCUs anyway.

Thumbs up on the Allen & Heath ZED-R16.  It has been my only interface for 3 years.
