How do I use my Maschine as a MIDI controller?

Hi, I am currently using SONAR X2 in 64bit but somehow,
Maschine Mikro won't show up on my preference when I tried to set my Maschine as a MIDI device.

I want to be able use Maschine Mikro as a MIDI keyboard and want to know how to do so.
(I want to be able to play VSTIs within the SONAR. ie. Kontact, Absynth etc.)

Thank you so much!

In X2 press P or go to Edit | Preferences. In the preferences dialog make sure that under MIDI devices that Maschine Mikro In is checked off as an input device. Leave X2.

Go to the NI Controller Editor make sure the template you are using has Assignments to the pads. Place Maschine in Pad mode <shift=pad>.

Open X2 create a MIDI track and under input select Maschine Mikro

IIRC the gent who explained this to me may have said to reboot after setting the Preferences in X2 (step 1).

    Regards, and good luck,
