new song: 'time to begin'

First post and first song uploaded in a long while. I've finally been playing with a band and concentrating on that a bit. Kind of came up with this one with the band / playing live more in mind than previous efforts. Still work to do on it but interested in any thoughts / suggestions.

This sounds really good on my speakers.

The vocals get a bit lost during the end section, but apart from that the mix sounded ok to me.  Others on here with a better ear for mixing this type of track will be able to help you more than i can.

    Loved the guitars especially.

Good song that i enjoyed quite a lot.

I know what you mean about the end section. I've tried those final big choruses - with a second vocal melody overlapping the first - before, and I haven't figured out yet how to get both vocal lines to be clear enough, given the climatic busyness going on all around.

Cool song. There are some things I would change with the mix. You are a bit to focused. This may sound odd to you, but on of the common suggestions we make when listening to a song critically is to carve out more space. This one has what I would call too much. It is like you have three distinct levels.. lows, mids and highs... with not enough in between. The kick is a bit lost within the bass at times and booms quite loudly on the same occasions. You are really close, but it just needs a bit more depth.

This is a really good song with a ton of potential.  You are so close that I would make a few different versions of this (mixwise) and see what works best.  Let me repeat; you are close.

    All the best,
