Music Creator 6: DXiSynth Resets to Max Volume

I recently upgraded to Music Creator 6 from Sonar LE 4 and I'm having trouble with the Dreamstation DXi soft synth. Whenever it plays it always automatically forces itself to max volume, creating an ear-grating sensation naturally. I checked the Event List and there is no "Level" event that would force it to a specific volume. I've deleted every event aside from notes and it still resets to max volume. Does anyone have a solution to this? Thank you in advance.

have you set the volume to a good and reasonable level and then clicked SAVE on the project?

You can also insert a volume envelope to set the levels. A volume envelope forces whatever it controls to a user defined level. I use them all the time.

Another little trick I always use in setting up a new project before I start to work is to link the master soundcard/interface volume faders..... R&L into a group and pull them down to the halfway point. This insures that anything that is gagged wide open will not blow me out of my seat or the cones out of the monitors. As I work this fader group will then normally stay down to a low level and only gets pushed up to 0db on final mix.

Where are you adjusting the volume? In the DreamStation GUI or in the MIDI track or in the synth's audio track? Or in a bus?

I am selling my MIM Fender Stratocaster HSS, red and black. PM for more details.

Music Creator 2003, MC Pro 24, SONAR Home Studio 6 XL, SONAR  X3e, CbB, Focusrite Saffire, not enough space.
    Everything is better with pie.

Here's the problem. I don't mean that I adjust the volume, close the program, and then it's back to max. I mean that in the same session, it resets back to max everytime I play.
ou can also insert a volume envelope to set the levels. A volume envelope forces whatever it controls to a user defined level. I use them all the time. Another little trick I always use in setting up a new project before I start to work is to link the master soundcard/interface volume faders..... As I work this fader group will then normally stay down to a low level and only gets pushed up to 0db on final mix.
I'll have to look into trying one of those, or looking for a preexisting volume envelope that may be forcing it.
Where are you adjusting the volume? In the DreamStation GUI or in the MIDI track or in the synth's audio track? Or in a bus?
On the DreamStation GUI. I can set the faders in the audio track to a level and it will stay at that, but when I open the GUI and set the volume, it will snap back to max anytime it plays back.

So it snaps back to the default volume level every time you click on playback?

I can see how that would be a PITA having to reset the GUI level every time.

It should not "snap back" on a playback command.

The workaround is to use the envelopes but I would certainly dig in to find out WHY it is behaving that way. Likely a setting or something you are not doing.

I don't use that synth so I can't offer much more than this advice.
