Firefox / IE Tab Help Req'd..

Running Win 8 with latest FF with IE Tab add on so that this forum still works more or less how it used to in earlier FF, but a couple of things bug me about this....

When post a link I can longer enter anything in the TEXT field  (not a biggie this one, but I preferred it when I could) and......

When I click on a link from someone's post, it opens in a new tab, which is fine, but it opens another IE tab, which makes some things a bit screwy (soundcloud for example will not work properly and I get a pop up saying I need to update my browser to a newer version, which is rubbish because both my FF and IE are the latest versions.  If I open Soundcloud in FF it works fine, so I can only assume that IE tab is somehow screwing things up.

So.... because a lot of people post the link as MY NEW SONG (for example) rather than the URL I have to click the link, wait for soundcloud to tell me I don't have the right browser, copy the URL from the browser, open soundcloud myself  in a new FF tab and paste the URL in and then it works. This is a PITA, so in a nutshell, what I want to know is....

Can IE tab be set to open links back in FF ? I only need IE tab for these forum pages , I want everything else to open normally in FF.

Any wisdom will be much appreciated.

This is just a guess--I'm on Win 7--have you tried making FF the default browser?  That might help.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot--hey, who the hell are you guys?

I think the trick there is that it'll let you enter in the 'text' field before you type anything else. If you type anything the 'text' field will be greyed out.

FF is the default browser - thanks for the suggestion though.

OK, tried that and it seems that I get a random selection of exactly what you say, the text box already greyed out or sometimes no text box at all. However, on this occasion it seems to have worked as you suggested so let's .....

    See if it works.....

No need to click the link, I'm just testing this for myself.

    Thanks James.
